    Setting Display Status
    Selecting Aspect Ratio of the Screen
    [Screen aspect]
    You can select the aspect ratio of the projecting
    screen.

    Press the [MENU] button when you finish.
    Display settings
    Screen aspect
    Select this when you use a screen
    with aspect ratio of 4:3.
    Select this when you use a screen
    with aspect ratio of 16:9.
    Select this when you use a screen
    with aspect ratio of 16:9 and you
    want to move the projecting position
    vertically.
    zIf you select [16:9] or [16:9 D. image
    shift], [Wide] will be selected for
    [Aspect]. If you want to project an
    image with aspect ratio of 4:3 when
    selecting [16:9 D. image shift], select
    [4:3] for [Aspect].
    zIf you select [16:9 D. image shift], the
    keystone adjustment will be reset.
    zAn item may become unavailable in
    this setting depending on the select-
    ing input signal and screen aspect
    (P74).

    Setting the Image Quality
    Selecting an Image Mode
    [Image mode]
    You can select an image mode suitable for the
    projecting image.

    *1 It is available if the input signal is [DIGITAL VIDEO],
    [COMPONENT], [VIDEO] or [S-VIDEO].
    *2 It is available if the input signal is [ANALOG PC-1],
    [ANALOG PC-2], or [DIGITAL PC].
    Press the [OK] button to confirm, and then press
    the [MENU] button.
    Image adjustment
    Image mode
    Select this to project an image with
    near-original quality and a high
    regard for reproduction of white. It is
    also suited to project moving pic-
    tures such as a TV program or a
    DVD movie in a bright room.
    Select this to project an image with
    quality suited for the presentation. It
    also suited to project moving pic-
    tures with a high regard for the
    brightness.
    Select this to project moving pic-
    tures of all kinds. Its brightness is
    suited to easily enjoy the atmo-
    sphere of a movie theater in a dim
    room.
    If you select [Photo] for [Image
    mode], make sure to set [Ambient
    light] in the [Image adjustment] as
    well. 
    You can correct an image according
    to the ambient light based on
    [sRGB] in [Image mode] and project
    the image with higher tone on the
    screen by setting [Ambient light]. It
    is suited to project an ornamental
    photo, etc. under an ambient light.

    quality suited to seriously enjoy the

    Its has wider color gamut than
    sRGB.
    Select this if you want to project an
    image in the display mode conform-
    ing to Windows standard color
    space. It is suited to project an
    image shot by an sRGB-compatible
    digital camera.

    You can adjust the brightness of an image when
    it is too bright or dark.

    Adjusting the Contrast
    [Contrast]
    You can adjust the contrast of an image if you
    want to make it more or less vivid, adjust the dif-
    ference in tone between the lightest and darkest
    portions of the image.

    You can adjust the sharpness when you want to
    make an image sharper or softer.

    You can make a gamma correction if light or
    dark portions of an image are obscure.

    You can correct colors (e.g. blue sky) in our
    memory so that they can be projected more viv-
    idly.

    [6-axis color adjust]
    You can make fine color adjustment with the 6-
    axis color adjustment box (RGB (red/green/blue)
    and CMY (cyan/ magenta/yellow)).
    Refer to Glossary for information on the 6-axis
    color adjustment.

    screen if you select [Adjust].

    Correcting the Image According to 
    the Ambient Light (SX7 II)
    [Ambient light]
    You can correct and project an image more
    appropriately according to the ambient light on
    the screen if you have selected [Photo] for
    [Image mode].

    Press the [OK] button to accept your setting and
    then press the [MENU] button.
    Image adjustment

    Projects an image with no correc-
    tion.
    You can specify the type and level
    (brightness) of the ambient light.
    Select this if the ambient light
    source is a light bulb or bulb color
    fluorescent.
    Select this if the ambient light
    source is a day white fluorescent.
    Select this if the ambient light
    source is a daylight fluorescent.

    Reducing the Lamp Brightness
    [Lamp mode]
    You can reduce the lamp brightness if you want
    to make the image darker or reduce the fan
    noise.

    the [MENU] button.
    Image adjustment
    Lamp mode
    Projects an image at the normal
    brightness level.
    Reduces the lamp brightness and
    the fan noise.
    zYou can reduce the power consump-
    tion of the lamp if you select in the
    quiet mode.
    zThis setting is saved for the currently
    selected input signal and image
    mode.

    Resetting the Image Settings
    [Reset]
    You can reset the current image settings to the
    default settings if you want to make all image
    settings all over again.

    Press the [OK] button to confirm, and then press
    the [MENU] button.
    Image adjustment
    Reset
    Resets the image settings.
    Cancels resetting of the image set-
    tings.
    zThe projector stores the image set-
    tings for each input signal (8) and
    image mode (up to 5) separately. If
    you select [OK], the settings saved for
    the currently selected set of the input
    signal and image mode are reset.
