Choose [Trimming].

Editing is not possible for images saved as   in step 3.
• Images cannot be resized to a higher resolution.

Adjust the cropping area.
XA frame is displayed around the portion of the 
image to be cropped.
XThe original image is shown in the upper left, 
and a preview of the image as cropped is 
shown in the lower right.
zTo resize the frame, move the zoom lever.zTo move the frame, press the opq buttons.zTo change the frame orientation, press the 
l button.
zFaces detected in the image are shown with 
gray frames around them (in the upper-left 
image), which can be used for cropping....

You can adjust image colors and then save the edited image as a separate 
file. For details on each option, see p. 122.
Choose [My Colors].

Excessively dark image areas (such as faces or backgrounds) can be 
detected and automatically adjusted to the optimal brightness. Insufficient 
overall image contrast is also automatically corrected, to make subjects stand 
out better. Choose from four correction levels, and then save the image as a 
separate file.
Choose [i-Contrast].
zPress the n button, and then choose [i-
Contrast] on the  1 tab (p. 40).

Automatically corrects images affected by red-eye. You can save the 
corrected image as a separate file.
Choose [Red-Eye Correction].
zPress the n button, and then choose 
[Red-Eye Correction] on the  1 tab (p. 40).

choose an image.
Correct the image.
zPress the m  button.XRed-eye detected by the camera is now 
corrected, and frames are displayed around

You can cut movies to remove unneeded portions at the beginning or end.
Choose *.
zFollowing steps 1 – 3 on p. 146, choose  *

XThe movie editing panel and editing bar are

Specify portions to cut.

Save the edited movie.

XThe movie is now saved as a new file.
• To overwrite the original movie with the cut one, choose [Overwrite] 
in step 4. In this case, the original movie will be erased.
• [Overwrite] is only available when memory cards lack sufficient free 
space.
• Movies may not be saved if the battery runs out...
