Switches the machine to fax mode.
(4) SCAN button
Switches the machine to scan mode. In scan mode, the machine scans a document to

Finalizes your selection for the menu or setting item.
This button is also used to dismiss the error message and resume the machine’s normal 
operation after resolving a printing error or removing jammed paper, or to eject 
documents remaining in the ADF.

Cancels operations and returns the LCD to the previous screen.
(22) Feed Switch
Selects the paper source. Press to switch the paper source between the Rear Tray and

„Basic Operation on the Settings Screen
You can change the print settings such as page  size, media type, etc. on the settings screen 
either in the copy mode, in the memory card m ode, in the fax mode, or when printing directly 
from a PictBridge compliant device.
This section describes the procedure to change the  settings, taking the steps to specify the page 
size for the memory card mode to  4 x 6 (101 x 152) as an example.

Turning the Machine On and Off
Turn on the machine before printing.
„Turning on the Machine
1Press the  ON/OFF button to turn on the 
machine.
The  COPY  button flashes and then remains lit 
green.
2If you are using the machine connected to a 
computer, turn on your computer.

zScreen-saver Mode
The LCD goes out if the machine is not operated for about five minutes*.
* You cannot change the wait time before the LCD goes out.
Note
When you want to restore the display, perform any operation such as copying, faxing, or scanning, 
or press any button except for the ON/OFF button. When you press the ON/OFF button while the 
machine is in Screen-saver mode, the machine turns off.
