Detaching and attaching the Feed RollerTo remove or attach the 
feeding roller, follow the procedure below.
Detaching the Feed Roller

Open the feed tray.
2Open the feeder cover.
3Open the roller cover
4Slide the feed rollers to left.
5Remove the feed rollers.
Attaching the Feed Roller
Use the following procedure to replace the feed roller.
1Attach the new feed rollers. Align the notch on the roller with the shaft 
on the main unit side.

2Slide the feed rollers to right.
3Completely close the roller cover so that it clicks into place.
Make sure to close the roller cover so that it clicks into place.
Failure to securely close the feed cover will cause document feed problems.
4Close the feeder cover.

If you have a problem that is not solved by the following, contact your local

A1 1 The scanner remains OFF while the feed tray is closed. 
When you open the feed tray, the scanner turns ON

try removing the hub and connecting directly to the

A7 Clean both sides of the scanner glass, and the rollers. If a sticky 
substance such as glue or correction fluid is found, carefully wipe 
with just enough pressure to clean the area where the lines 
appear. For cleaning the scanner, refer to Chapter 10 Regular 
Maintenance. If the problem cannot be solved by cleaning, the 
internal glass may be scratched. Contact your local authorized 
Canon dealer.

This section describes troubleshooting problems and solutions for 
operating the supplied software (CaptureOnTouch).
If scanning is too slow

Close other running programs, if any.
2Scanning can be slowed down by memory shortage caused by 
memory-resident applications such as anti-virus programs. Close 
such memory-resident programs if necessary to free up memory 
space.
