9-6 Trou\fleshooting 2 If you are using the multi-pu\Lrpose tray, \blose it. 3 Open the front \bover while holding down the open button. 4 Remove the toner \bartridge. Immediately place the toner cartridge into the original protective bag or wrap it wit\Ih a thick cloth. 5 Hold the green tabs ( A), and push the transport guide forward and down. Do not take your hands off the \Itransport guide until it ha\Is reached the original position in St\Iep 7. (A) 6 Remove the jammed paper b\Ly pulling it out gently . Remove it as horizontally as possible \Iso that loose toner does not spill out. 7 Slowly move the transport guide to its original position. 8 Hold the part where the g reen seal is atta\bhed and open the roller \bover. 9 Remove the do\bument by pulling it gently. 10 Put the roller \bover ba\bk in pla\be gently. 11 Insert the toner \bartridge. Fit (A) on both sides o\If the toner cartridge into the guides located on both sides of t\Ihe machine and slid\Ie the toner cartridge into the machine until the t\Ioner cartridge comes to rest and is held aga\Iinst the back of the ma\Ichine. Action Repeat the sending proc edure from the \feginning . Additionally , ask the recipien t to check the fax machine. When making an ov erseas call, add a pause to the fax num\fer. P ro\flem 2 T he rec eiving fax machine may not \fe a G3 fax machine. A ction Make sure the rec eiving fax machine is a G3 fax machine. If it is a G3 fax machine, send the document again. Other wise, switch to the communica tion mode support ed \fy the rec eiving fax machine and send the document again. #012 Pr o\flem The rec eiving fax machine is out of paper. A ction Make sure that there is enough paper loaded in the rec eiving fax machine's paper tra y. #018 Pro\flem 1 No response is o\ftained aft er redialing the num\fer. The line may \fe \fusy or disconnec ted. Action Wait a few seconds \fefor e trying to dial the num\fer again. Make sure that the rec eiving fax machine is ready to rec eive a document if you still cannot send a fax. Wait a few more seconds \fefor e trying to dial the num\fer again if the line is still \fusy. Pr o\flem 2 Y ou cannot send a fax \fecause the line is \fusy or disconnec ted. Action Make sure that the rec eiving fax machine is ready to rec eive a document and try to dial the num\fer again. Pr o\flem 3 T he settings configur ed on the rec eiving fax machine may not \fe the same with your fax machine. A ction Make sure that the rec eiving fax machine is ready to rec eive a document and try to dial the num\fer again. Pr o\flem 4 No pause was added to the fax num\fer when sending a fax ov erseas. 9-11 Trou\fleshooting This message appears when the paper size loaded in the paper drawer or multi-purpose tray does not match the size specified in , , or in the menu. When this message appears, follo w the steps in the proc edure \felow . NOTE Ignore \bhe me\f\fage and pr\uoceed \bo prin\b You can print on paper currently set in the pa\Iper drawer or multi-purpose tray if you press [\fK] to ignore the message. Note that this may cause unexpected print results, for example, a part of the image may not be printed at all. Changing \bhe paper \fize in \bhe menu \bo ma\bch \bhe \fize loaded in \bhe pap\uer drawer or mul\bi-purpo\fe \bray Cancel the jo\f and refer to e-Manual → Basic Operation → Setting the Paper Size and Type → For the Paper Dra wer, to change the paper size in menu. IMPORTANT When prin\bing from \bhe prin\ber driver Make sure that the paper s\Iize specified in the\I printer driver also matches the size loaded in the pap\Ier drawer or multi-purpose tray. Make sure that the power cord is securely plugged into the machine and into the wall outlet. Make sure that electricity is supplied from the power cord. \bse another pow er cor d or check to see if the cor d is \froken using a voltmet er. Turn ON the power switch. If this wor ks Ha\f \bhe power \fwi\bch been ju\f\b \burned ON? Wait a few moments until the machine starts and warms up. If this wor ks I\f \bhe machine in \bhe\u \fleep mode? Press [] (Energy Saver) on the operation panel to return from the sleep mode. If this wor ks Are \bhe \fe\b\bing\f properly configured? If the machine makes the error sound and does not start operating even after [] (Start) has \feen pressed, the settings may not hav e \feen configur ed proper ly. Check the configur ed settings.
