50 Focusing Off-Center Subjects After achieving focus, you can lock the focus on a subject and recompose the shot. This is called “focus lock.” Focus lock works when the AF mode is set to One Shot AF. 1Set the camera to a Creative Zone mode. 2Select the desired AF point. 3Focus the subject. •Aim the AF point on the subject, then press the shutter button halfway. 4Keep pressing the shutter button halfway and recompose the picture as desired. 5Take the picture.
