Clip Operations
You can use the clip menu in the [AVCHD] index screen or [MP4] index screen to copy clips, delete clips and 
convert clips to MP4. You can use the functions in the [w Other Functions] menu to perform some of the 
operations on all the clips or a selection of clips.

Copying Multiple Clips
1 Open the [Copy] submenu.
[wOther Functions] > [Clips] > [Copy]
2 Select [Select] to select which clips to copy or [All] to copy all the clips 
and then press the joystick.
• If you selected [Select], use the joystick to move between the clips. 
Press the joystick to select a clip to copy and repeat as necessary (up 
to 100 clips). After selecting all the desired clips, press the MENU button.

Converting Clips to MP4
You can convert an AVCHD or MP4 clip into an MP4 clip. The converted clip will have a bit rate of 3 Mbps and a 
resolution of 640x360. (When the source clip to be converted is an MP4 clip, it will, in fact, be resized to a smaller 
MP4 clip.) This procedure requires two SD cards: one (source) that contains the source clips to be converted 
and the other one (destination) that will store the converted files.

Frame rate of converted clipsDepending on the video configuration, some clips cannot be converted.
NOTES
• The maximum total playback time of the clips to be converted is 12 hours.
• Clips are played back as they are converted. If you set an assignable button to [Headphone +], [Headphone -], 
[Speaker +] or [Speaker -] (A 107), you can press the button to adjust the headphone volume or built-in 
speaker during the conversion.
• Clips cannot be converted when the SD card already...

Video Output Configuration
The video signal output from the HDMI OUT terminal depends on the various menu settings and the capabilities 
of the external monitor. If necessary, you can superimpose the onscreen displays on the video displayed on the 
external monitor (A139).

Connecting to an External Monitor
When you connect the camcorder to an external monitor for recording or playback, use the terminal on the 
camcorder that matches the one you wish to use on the monitor. Then, select the video signal output 
configuration (A135). Video will be output from the HDMI OUT and AV OUT terminals simultaneously.

Applying a LUT to Video from the HDMI OUT Terminal
When recording with Canon Log gamma, you can apply a LUT to the video being output from the HDMI OUT 
terminal.
1 Open the LUT [Setting] submenu.
[¢ Video Setup] > [HDMI] > [LUT] > [Setting]
2 Select [On] and then press the joystick.
3 Select [Select] to open the LUT selection submenu.
4 Select the desired option and then press the joystick.

SD Output
When HD video (16:9 aspect ratio) is converted and output as SD video 
(4:3 aspect ratio) from the HDMI OUT or AV OUT terminal, you can 
choose how it appears on the external monitor.
1 Open the [SD Output] submenu.

2 Select the desired option and then press the joystick.

• During SD video output in   mode, onscreen displays will not appear on an external monitor if [¢Video 
Setup] > [SD Output] is set to [Side Crop].
• If you set an assignable button to [Onscreen Display] (A107), you can press the button to turn on and off the 
superimposing of onscreen displays on video output from the camcorder’s terminals (simultaneously for HD 
and SD video).
