Peripheral Illumination Correction, Distortion Correction, and 
Chromatic Aberration Correction
To execute peripheral illumination correction, distortion correction, and 
chromatic aberration  correction with the camera,  the data of the lens used 
for the shot must be regi stered in the camera. If th e lens data has not been 
registered in the camera, use EOS Ut ility (provided software, p.456) to 
register the lens data.

You can resize an image to make the pixel count lower and save it as a 
new image. Resizing an image is  possible only with JPEG 3/4 /a /b  
images. JPEG  c and RAW images cannot be resized.
1Select [Resize].
  Under the [ 32] tab, select [Resize ], 
then press < 0>.
X An image will be displayed.
2Select an image.
  Turn the < 5> dial to select the 
image you want to resize.
  By pressing the < I> button, you 
can switch to the index display and 
select an image.

Resize Options According to Original Image Size
The image size displayed in step 3 on the preceding page, such as 
[***M ****x**** ], has a 3:2 aspect ratio. The image size according to 
aspect ratios is shown in the table below.
The asterisked image-recording qualit y figures do not exactly match the 
aspect ratio. The image  will be cropped slightly.

You can apply the following Creative filters to an image and save it as a 
new image: Grainy B/W, Soft focus,  Fish-eye effect, Art bold effect, 
Water painting effect, Toy camera effect, and Miniature effect.
1Select [Creative filters].
 Under the [ x1] tab, select [ Creative 
filters ], then press < 0>.
X An image will be displayed.
2Select an image.
  Turn the < 5> dial to select the 
image you want to apply a filter to.

  Select [OK ] to save the image.
  Check the destination folder and 
image file number, then select [ OK].
  To apply a filter to another image,

Creates a grainy black-and-white  photo. You can change the black-
and-white effect by adjusting the contrast.
  Soft focus
Gives the image a soft look. You  can change the degree of softness 
by adjusting the blur.

U Applying Creative Filters
  Fish-eye effect
Gives the effect of a fish-eye lens. The image will  have a barrel-type 
distortion.
Depending on the level of this filt er effect, the area trimmed along 
the periphery of the image changes. Also, since this filter effect will 
magnify the image center, the appar ent resolution at the center may 
degrade depending on the number of recorded pixels. Set the filter 
effect in step 4 while checking the resulting image.

Sensor Cleaning
The camera has a Self Cleaning Sensor Unit to 
automatically shake off du st adhered to the image 
sensor’s front layer  (low pass filter).
The Dust Delete Data can  also be appended to the 
image so that the dust spot s remaining can be erased 
automatically by Digital Photo Professional (provided 
software, p.456).

Whenever you set the power switch to  or < 2>, the Self 
Cleaning Sensor Unit operates to aut omatically shake off the dust on 
the front of the sensor. Normally, you need not pay attention to this 
operation. However, you can choose  to perform sensor cleaning at any 
time, or disable it.
1Select [Sensor cleaning].
 Under the [ 54] tab, select [ Sensor 
cleaning], then press < 0>.
2Select [Clean nowf ].
 Select [Clean now f], then press 
< 0 >.
  Select [OK ], then press < 0>.
