You can rotate the displayed image to the desired orientation.
1Select [Rotate image].
 Under the [ 31] tab, select [Rotate 
image ], then press < 0>.
2Select an image.
  Turn the < 5> dial to select the 
image to be rotated.
  You can also select an image in the 
index display (p.296).
3Rotate the image.
 Each time you press < 0>, the 
image will rotate clockwise as follows: 
90°  9 270° 9  0°.
  To rotate another image, repeat steps 
2 and 3.
  To return to the menu, press the

You can rate images (still photos and movies) with one of five rating 
marks: l/m/n/o/p. This function is called rating.
1Select [Rating].
 Under the [ 32] tab, select [Rating ], 
then press < 0>.
2Select an image.
  Turn the < 5> dial to select the 
image or movie to be rated.
  To display the three-image display, 
press the < I> button. To return to 
the single-image display, press the 
< u > button.
3Rate the image.
  Press the < V> key to select a 
rating.

3 Setting Ratings
The total number of images  with a given rating that can be displayed is up to 
999. If there are more  than 999 images with a given rating, [###] will be 
displayed for that rating.
Taking Advantage of Ratings
  With [ 32: Image jump w/ 6], you can display only images with a 
specific rating.
  With [ 32: Slide show ], you can play back only  images with a specific 
rating.
  With Digital Photo Professional (p rovided software, p.456), you can 
select only images with a spec ific...

During single-image display, you can press the  button to set any 
of the following: [ J: Protect images,  b: Rotate image,  9: Rating , 
U : Creative filters,  S: Resize (JPEG image only),  : Highlight alert, 
: AF point display , e: Image jump w/6 , k: Wi-Fi *].
For movies, only the function s in bold above can be set.
* Not selectable if [53: Wi-Fi] is set to [ Disable].

Q Quick Control for Playback
To rotate an image, set [ 51: Auto rotate ] to [OnzD ]. If [ 51: Auto rotate ] 
is set to [ OnD] or [ Off], the [ b Rotate image ] setting will be  recorded to 
the image, but the came ra will not rotate the image for display.
 Pressing the < Q> button during the index di splay will switch to the 
single-image display and the Quick Control screen  will appear. Pressing 
the < Q> button again will return to the index display.

You can play back movies in the following three ways:Use the HDMI cable HTC-100 (sold 
separately) or stereo AV cable AVC-
DC400ST (sold separately) to connect 
the camera to a TV set. Then you can 
play back captured movies and still 
photos on TV.
If you have a High-Definition TV set and 
connect your camera with an HDMI 
cable, you can watch Full High-Definition 
(Full HD: 1920x1080) and High-
Definition (HD: 1280x720) movies with 
higher image quality.

The movie files recorded on the card can 
be transferred to a computer and played 
with ImageBrowser EX (provided 
software).
Playback and Editing with a Computer(p.456)
 To have the movie play back smoothly on a computer, use a high-

 Press the < x> button to display an 
image.
2Select a movie.
  Turn the < 5> dial to select the 
movie to be played.
  In the single-image display, the 
 icon displayed on the 
upper left of the screen indicates a 
movie. If the movie is a video 
snapshot, < > will be displayed.
  In the index display, perforations at 
the left edge of a  thumbnail indicate a 
movie.  As movies cannot be played 
from the index display, press < 0> 
to switch to the single-image 
display.

Movie Playback Panel
* When background music is set, the movie’s sound will not be played.
OperationPlayback Description
7 PlayPressing  toggles between play and stop.
8 Slow motionAdjust the slow motion  speed by pressing the < U> key. 
The slow motion speed is indica ted at the upper right of the 
screen.
5  First frameDisplays the movie’s first frame.

frameEach time you press , the previous frame is 
displayed. If you hold down , it will rewind the movie.
