2Pull out the power cord from the AC power outlet/socket 
and then the printer.
3Remove any paper from the center output tray (1) and 
return the paper stopper to its original position if it is raised 
(2).
4Pull all the paper trays out of the printer.
5Remove the fasteners found at the 2 locations inside the 
printer and at the 2 locations at the back of the printer.

6Lift up the printer by holding the recessed areas as shown 
in the illustration and then remove it from the lower trays.

lower trays and at the 2 locations at the back of the lower

8Lift up the top lower tray by holding the recessed areas as 
shown in the illustration and then remove it from the 
bottom lower tray.
Turn the printer switch back on.

Duplex Unit (DX-8000)
You can install an optional duplex unit to this printer.
Be sure to switch off the power and unplug the power cord from the outlet before carrying out the 
operations. If not, you might get an electrical shock.
Installing the Duplex Unit
1Turn off the printer power switch.
2Pull out the power cord from the AC power outlet/socket 
and then the printer.
3Remove the packing that protects the DX connector.

4Push in the packing cover from the printer by pushing the 
two tabs as shown in the illustration.
5Insert the right and left tabs at the bottom of the duplex 
unit into the holes at the back of the printer and then align 
the top part of the duplex unit with the printer.
Ensure that the connector of the duplex unit is connected 
to the connector of the printer.
6Tighten the screws at both ends of the bottom of the 
duplex unit.
Turn the printer switch back on.

3Loosen the screws at both ends of the bottom of the 
duplex unit.
4While supporting the duplex unit with your hand, lift the 
lever at the top left hand side of the duplex unit to unlock 
it and then tilt the top part of the duplex unit away from the 
printer.
You must support the duplex unit with your hand, when it is 
unlocked. If you do not, it may fall.

6Push in the protective cover and protective part, which 
was removed during installation of the duplex unit, until it 
clicks into the back of the printer.

Offset Catch Tray (CT-8000)
You can install an optional offset catch tray to this printer.
Be sure to switch off the power and unplug the power cord from the AC power outlet/socket before 
carrying out the operations. If you do not, you might get an electrical shock.
Installing the Offset Catch Tray
1Turn off the printer power switch.
2Pull out the power cord from the AC power outlet/socket 
and then the printer.
3Open the back cover by lifting the lower gray lever at the 
top left...

4Loosen the right and left screws as shown in the 
illustration to uninstall the top cover of the paper exit.
5Insert the right and left tabs of the offset catch tray into the 
holes at the top of the printer (1), and then slowly lower it 
down on the top of the printer (2).
6Secure the screws at both ends of the bottom of the offset 
catch tray.
