A - 3 APPENDIXES Consumable Items Toner Cartridge (TN-1700) The replacement toner cartridge includes the toner and the photosensitive drum. If the toner in the toner cartridge is insufficient, the printout will become light and blurred. The following replacement toner cartridge is available: ■TN-1700: can print approx. 17,000 pages The possible number of pages that can be printed is based on A4/Letter size paper with a print ratio of 5% and the default density setting using one toner cartridge. A - 5 APPENDIXES 3Insert a CompactFlash card into the slot with the label facing to the left. Make sure you put it in properly. Before you remove the card, turn the power switch OFF. To remove the card, pull it out of the printer.

APPENDIXES A - 6 DIMM Memory Installing the DIMM Memory 1Turn off the printer power switch. 2Pull out the AC power cord from the AC power outlet/socket and then the printer. Make sure you turn the power to the printer off before you install or remove the DIMM. 3Loosen the screw on left side of the back of the printer, and then remove the side cover. 4Loosen the two screws, and then remove the metal plate by lifting it up slightly.

A - 7 APPENDIXES 5Unpack the DIMM and hold it by its edges. 6Hold the DIMM with your fingers on the side edges and your thumb on the back edge. Line up the notches on the DIMM with the DIMM slot. (Check that the locks on each side of the DIMM slot are open or facing outwards.) 7Press the DIMM straight into the slot (press firmly). Make sure the locks on each side of the DIMM click into place.
