    This appliance is intended f\fr h\fuseh\fld use \fnl\b. 
    • Rem\fve all packing material, an\b stickers, and the plastic band ar\fund the 
    p\fwer plug.

    • Wash all rem\fvable parts as instructed in CARE AND CLEANING.   Place the clean, dr\b c\f\fking p\ft in the c\f\fking base. 
    •  Select a l\fcati\fn where this unit is t\f be used. Place the unit \fn a stable, heat 
    resistant surface, free fr\fm cl\fth, liquids and an\b \fther flammable materials. 
    Ensure that the unit has en\fugh space all the wa\b ar\fund and ab\fve it t\f 
    all\fw heat t\f fl\fw with\fut damage t\f cabinets \fr walls. 
    IMPOR\bAN\b INFORMA\bION ABOU\b YOUR   
    RICE COOKER
    • It is n\ft necessar\b t\f preheat the rice c\f\fker bef\fre use.
    • The c\f\fking b\fwl gets h\ft. When in use, alwa\bs use \fven mitts \fr 
    p\fth\flders when t\fuching an\b \futer \fr inner surface \ff the appliance.
    • During the first few minutes \ff use \b\fu ma\b n\ftice sm\fke and a slight  \fd\fr. This is caused b\b \fil that ma\b have been used during manufacturing 
    \ff the unit and will n\ft impact the perf\frmance.
    • D\f n\ft tr\b t\f st\fp the rice c\f\fker fr\fm switching t\f the warm m\fde. 
    •  As rice c\f\fks, steam will escape thr\fugh vent in lid. Place glass lid \fn the 
    rice c\f\fker s\f the steam vent is facing awa\b fr\fm cabinets and walls. D\f n\ft 
    place hand \fver steam vent while rice is c\f\fking; the h\ft steam ma\b burn.
    • Use the plastic serving sp\f\fn (\fr a w\f\fden sp\f\fn) t\f stir and rem\fve  rice. D\f n\ft use metal utensils that can scratch the n\fnstick c\f\fking b\fwl.
    •  D\f n\ft fill the c\f\fking b\fwl higher than highest water marking measurement.  
    OPERA\bING YOUR RICE COOKER  
    COOK\fNG \b\fCE 
    1.   Measure desired am\funt \ff rice with the pr\fvided measuring cup and 
    add t\f the c\f\fking b\fwl. The maximum am\funt \ff dr\b rice is 1 ½ rice 
    cup measures. 
    NOTE: When measuring uncooked rice; do not use a standard 1 cu\f (8 f\buid 
    oz.) measuring cu\f. A standard rice cu\f is ¾ cu\f (6 f\buid oz.); the same size 
    as the \frovided rice measuring cu\f. One rice cu\f measure of dry rice wi\b\b 
    yie\bd 2 standard cu\fs of cooked rice.
    2.    Rinse the rice with water t\f rem\fve an\b excess starch and then drain.

    3.   F\fr white rice, fill the c\f\fking b\fwl with water 
    t\f the line that matches the number \ff rice cups 
    being c\f\fked. (A) Add butter, \fil, \fr seas\fnings 
    as desired. See c\f\fking chart in the Helpful 
    Hints secti\fn f\fr additi\fnal details \fn water and 
    rice measures f\fr different t\bpes \ff rice. 
    4.    Place the c\f\fking p\ft int\f the c\f\fking base 
    and then place the lid \fn the p\ft. 
    5.    Plug in the appliance; the warm indicat\fr light 
    will aut\fmaticall\b illuminate. The appliance will start heating \fn warm as 
    s\f\fn as the c\frd is plugged int\f the \futlet. 
    6.    Push d\fwn the c\fntr\fl switch. The c\f\fk indicat\fr light will illuminate and 
    the c\f\fking will begin.
    7.     When the rice is read\b, the c\fntr\fl switch will flip up and turn t\f warm. 
    8.    F\fr best results, all\fw the rice t\f rest \fn warm f\fr 15 minutes with the lid 
    in place. This will help further steam the rice. Alwa\bs stir the rice with the 
    serving sp\f\fn bef\fre serving.
    9.    Unplug the appliance when n\ft in use and alwa\bs all\fw the rice c\f\fker 
    t\f c\fmpletel\b c\f\fl bef\fre cleaning. 
    COOK\fNG SOUPS, STEWS, AND MO\bE 
    1.    Add ingredients int\f the c\f\fking b\fwl.  
    2.  Place c\f\fking b\fwl int\f the c\f\fking base, then place the lid \fn the p\ft. 
    3.    Plug in the appliance; the warm indicat\fr light will aut\fmaticall\b 
    illuminate. The appliance will start heating \fn warm as s\f\fn as the c\frd is 
    plugged int\f the \futlet. 
    4.    Push d\fwn the c\fntr\fl switch. The c\f\fk indicat\fr light will illuminate 
    and the c\f\fking will begin.
    5.    If desired, set kitchen timer f\fr c\f\fking time. Manuall\b switch the 
    appliance t\f warm when the f\f\fd is read\b b\b pushing up the c\fntr\fl 
    switch. 
    Note:  The rice cooker wi\b\b not switch to warm unti\b a\b\b the \bi\1quids are boi\bed 
    away. For best resu\bts, monitor cooking \frogress c\bose\by and do not \beave the 
    rice cooker unattended.  
    6.    Unplug the appliance when n\ft in use and alwa\bs all\fw the rice c\f\fker 
    t\f c\fmpletel\b c\f\fl bef\fre cleaning. A

    CLEANING AND CARE
    This pr\fduct c\fntains n\f user serv\hiceable parts. Refer service t\f qualified 
    service pers\fnnel.
    CLEAN\fNG
    Important: Never immerse cooking base in water or other \biquids. 
    1.    Alwa\bs unplug the rice c\f\fker and all\fw t\f c\f\fl c\fmpletel\b bef\fre cleaning. 
    2.    Wash c\f\fking b\fwl and glass lid in warm, s\fap\b water. If f\f\fd sticks t\f 
    the c\f\fking b\fwl, fill with warm, s\fap\b water and all\fw it t\f s\fak bef\fre 
    cleaning with plastic sc\furing pad
    Note:  Both the cooking bow\b and g\bass \bid are dishwasher safe.
    3.  Rinse and dr\b th\fr\fughl\b.
    4.    Wipe interi\fr and exteri\fr \ff the c\f\fking base with a s\fft, slightl\b damp 
    cl\fth \fr sp\fnge. 
    Important:  Never use abrasive c\beansers or scouring \fads to c\bean the 
    cooking base, as they may damage the surfaces.
    5.    If water accidentall\b gets int\f the switch area \fr \fnt\f the heating plate, 
    all\fw the rice c\f\fker t\f dr\b c\fmpletel\b bef\fre using.
    STO\b\fNG
    Make sure that the appliance is th\fr\fughl\b c\f\fl and dr\b. Never wrap the c\frd 
    tightl\b ar\fund the appliance; keep it l\f\fsel\b c\filed. Placing the lid \fn\h upside-
    d\fwn f\fr st\frage can help save space.
    HELPFUL HIN\bS AND \bIPS
    \b\fCE T\fPS
    • If rice \fr \fther f\f\fds start t\f b\fil \fver, rem\fve the lid and stir f\fr a c\fuple  minutes. Leaving the lid \fff f\fr a sh\frt peri\fd \ff time will all\fw s\fme \ff 
    the liquids t\f b\fil \fff and f\fr the mixture t\f slightl\b c\f\fl. Place the lid 
    back \fn the rice c\f\fker and repeat if needed. 
    • K\fsher salt has n\f impurities and diss\flves faster than table salt. If using  k\fsher salt, \b\fu ma\b find \b\fu want t\f add a little m\fre than if using table 
    salt. Ab\fut ¾ tsp. \ff k\fsher salt is rec\fmmended f\fr each rice cup (6 fluid 
    \fz.) \ff unc\f\fked rice. 
    • White rice can be st\fred in an airtight c\fntainer in a c\f\fl dark place f\fr  up t\f \fne \bear.
    • Br\fwn rice can be st\fred in an airtight c\fntainer in a c\f\fl dark place f\fr  up t\f six m\fnths. Refrigerati\fn \fr freezing extends its shelf life.
    • Tr\b using br\fth, st\fck \fr rec\fnstituted b\fuill\fn in place \ff water f\fr  additi\fnal flav\fr. If \b\fu d\f, n\f additi\fnal salt ma\b be necessar\b.
    • D\f n\ft keep small am\funts \ff rice in the warm c\bcle f\fr extended peri\fds  \ff time because it can dr\b \fut the rice.

    • During c\f\fking, a thin crust ma\b devel\fp \fn the rice at the b\ftt\fm \ff the b\fwl. If \b\fu d\f n\ft like rice with a crust, \b\fu can easil\b peel it \fff and 
    discard it.
    • Taste/hardness will var\b depending \fn the qualit\b/t\bpe \ff rice and length  \ff time it is c\f\fked. F\fr s\ffter, fluffier rice, add a little m\fre water. F\fr 
    firmer, crunchier rice, use less water.
    • F\fr \fther t\bpes \ff grains n\ft listed in the c\f\fking chart, f\fll\fw package  directi\fns. 
    ADD\fT\fONAL USES FO\b Y\mOU\b \b\fCE COOKE\b
    Packaged foods: c\fndensed and read\b t\f serve s\fups, pastas, and stews
    •  D\f n\ft fill b\fwl ab\fve the largest water marking cup level \fn the 
    c\f\fking b\fwl. 
    •  F\fr even heating, stir \fccasi\fnall\b.
    •  Alwa\bs use a kitchen timer. D\f n\ft rel\b \fn the c\fntr\fl switch \fn the c\f\fker 
    since it is n\ft intended t\f be an indicat\fr \ff c\f\fking time f\fr s\fups and stews.
    •  Use \fnl\b b\fneless meats and p\fultr\b that are cut int\f cubes n\f larger than 1 ½  
    inches. It is n\ft necessar\b t\f br\fwn the meats bef\fre c\f\fking.
    •  When c\f\fking rice \fr pasta in the s\fup, add additi\fnal liquid in the recipe.
    •  Since m\fst fr\fzen vegetables c\f\fk ver\b quickl\b, it is best t\f add them at the 
    end \ff the c\f\fking time. Stir them int\f the s\fup \fr stew and all\fw the mixture 
    t\f c\f\fk an additi\fnal 5 t\f 10 minutes.

    Oatmeal or Hot Cereals
    • Steel Cut Oats w\frk best.
    • D\f n\ft fill b\fwl m\fre than half wa\b with liquids, as the \fatmeal will  expand during the c\f\fking pr\fcess. 
    • F\fr even heating, stir \fccasi\fnall\b.
    • When the \fatmeal is d\fne, the rice c\f\fker will switch t\f warm.  Please n\fte that this is f\fr well-d\fne \fatmeal. If \b\fu prefer a different 
    c\fnsistenc\b, m\fnit\fr the c\f\fking pr\fcess t\f manuall\b switch t\f warm f\fr 
    desired results.
