Operation 51 • The QPresenter only accepts up to 8 characters consisting of English capitalized letters and digits 0-9 for the name, full 6 digits consisting of 1 to 4 for the password. • To change the QPresenter interface language, click the down arrow to reveal a drop-down list and select a desired language. Click Apply. • To allow notification messages to appear, click Yes. Click Apply. • To display your computer screen on multiple projectors, click Activate 1:N D i s p l ay. C l i c k Ap p l y. It c a n d i s p l ay u p to 8 projectors at the same time. 4. The Advanced Settings page allows you to configure QPresenter. • To display still pictures, click the down arrow to reveal a drop-down list and select Graphic. Click Apply. To display video clips, click the down arrow to reveal a drop-down list and select Video. Click Apply. Graphic mode: worse image quality but faster transmission speed. Video mode: better image quality but slower transmission speed. However, the actual transmission speed was determined by the network traffic at that time. • To adjust the capture rate, move the slide bar. The network bandwidth may also affect the performance. • To launch QPresenter when your computer operating system is started, click Yes for Boot and launch. Click Apply. • To link to the Projector Network Display System web page, click Link. 5. Disconnect To disconnect from the projector(s), click the Disconnect icon. • Be sure to turn off other virtual network control programs before using QPresenter. • Firewall in the PC must be switched off to allow QPresenter and USB Display to work. • Wireless keyboard mouse combo is not supported by Pixelworks currently.
Operation 52 Using the broadcasting function When it comes to 1:N LAN Display, there are two ways to do this function: 1. By TCP/IP (support up to 8 projectors, original design) 2. By Multicast (support up to 255 projectors, this new design) You can select channel 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6... 25 with showing the correspondent IP (gray out). There are 1~25 channels (25 IPs) for you to select freely: 239.192.19.21~239.192.19.45 If the channel is fixed at emergency channel, when projector detects image coming in from this channel, it will project this image automatically. There is no need to switch sources manually. To activate this function: The function requires special version of the QPresenter. Please download it from your User Manuel CD. 1. Go to the SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced > Network Settings menu after opening the OSD menu system. Press MODE/ENTER. 2. Press to highlight Broadcasting and press / to select On. 3. Open the Advanced Settings page in the QPresenter. 4. Click Ye s in the Activating Broadcasting row and click Apply. Or 1. Open the Projector Network Display System and go to the Basic page. 2. Click ON in the Broadcasting row and select a channel using the drop-down list. 3. Open the Advanced Settings page in the QPresenter. 4. Click Ye s in the Activating Broadcasting row and click Apply. • This function is only available when the Network Display source is selected. • The minimum system requirement for your computer is Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz CPU, 2G DDR. Using the Projection Login Code This function is designed to ensure network display through the correct projector. To toggle this function: 1. Go to the SYSTEM SETUP: Advanced > Network Settings menu after opening the OSD menu system. Press MODE/ENTER. 2. Press to highlight Projection Log In Code and press / to select On or Off. When this function is on, the projector generates a random 4-digit code in the upper right corner when you switch the source to Network Display. You need to key in this 4-digit code in the QPresenter when connecting to the projector. Using the USB cable to display computer content 1. Take a USB cable and connect one end to your computer and the other end to the USB min B port on the projector. 2. Press SOURCE and select USB Display in the source bar. 3. Go to My Computer on you PC and double-click the BenQ QPresenter icon. 4. The projector automatically displays the content in your computer.
Operation 53 Presenting from a USB Reader This feature displays a slide show of images stored on a USB flash drive connected to the projector. It can eliminate the need for a computer source. Supported image formats: • A square box will be displayed on the filename for unidentified characters. • Thai filename is not supported. • Files in GIF, TIFF, PNG and BMP formats can be displayed for the file size smaller than WXGA (1280 x 800) only. • If a folder consists of more than 200 photos, only the first 200 photos can be displayed. To view your pictures as a slide show, follow these steps: 1. Plug the USB flash drive into the USB TYPE-A jack of the projector. 2. The projector automatically displays the thumbnails. Or you can manually select USB Reader from the source selection bar. When viewing thumbnails During a slide show Setting page You can adjust the file order and Slideshow settings. Operation 54 Using the USB Camera 1. Plug the USB camera to the projector’s USB Type A port. For supported USB camera list, visit http://www.ideasonboard.org/uvc/#footnote-1. 2. Open the Projector Network Display System and log in. 3. Go to the Basic page and click Connect in the USB Camera row. Images captured by the USB camera will be displayed in a pop out page. Shutting down the projector 1. Press POWER on the projector or OFF on the remote control, and a confirmation message will be displayed prompting you. If you dont respond in a few seconds, the message will disappear. 2. Press POWER a second time. The POWER indicator light flashes orange, the projection lamp shuts down, and the fans will continue to run for approximately 90 seconds to cool down the projector. To protect the lamp, the projector will not respond to any commands during the cooling process.
Operation 55 To shorten the cooling time, you can also activate the Quick cooling function. See Quick Cooling on page 62 for details. 3. Once the cooling process finishes, a Power Off Ring To n e will be heard. The POWER indicator light is a steady orange and fans stop. Disconnect the power cord from the power outlet. • To turn off the power ring tone, see Turning off the Power On/Off Ring Tone on page 37 for details. • If the projector is not properly shut down, to protect the lamp, when you attempt to re-start the projector, the fans will run for a few minutes to cool down. Press POWER again to start the projector after the fans stop and the POWER indicator light turns orange. • Lamp life results will vary depending on environmental conditions and usage. Direct power off The AC power cord can be pulled out right after the projector is turned off. To protect the lamp, wait about 10 minutes before re-starting the projector. (When you attempt to re-start the projector, the fans may run for a few minutes to cool down. In such cases, press POWER again to start the projector after the fans stop and the POWER indicator light turns orange.

Operation 59 Description of each menu Function Description Wall ColorCorrects the projected picture’s color when the projection surface is not white. See Using Wall Color on page 31 for details. Aspect RatioThere are several options to set the images aspect ratio depending on your input signal source. See Selecting the aspect ratio on page 29 for details. Auto KeystoneAutomatically corrects any keystoning of the image. See Correcting keystone on page 23 for details. KeystoneCorrects any keystoning of the image. See Correcting keystone on page 23 for details. Position Displays the position adjustment page. To move the projected image, use the directional arrow keys. The values shown on the lower position of the page change with every key press you made until they reach their maximum or minimum. This function is only available when a PC signal (analog RGB) is selected. Phase Adjusts the clock phase to reduce image distortion. This function is only available when a PC signal (analog RGB) is selected. H. Size Adjusts the horizontal width of the image. This function is only available when a PC signal (analog RGB) is selected. Digital ZoomMagnifies or reduces the projected image. See Magnifying and searching for details on page 29 for details. 3D Sync This projector features a 3D function which enables you to enjoy the 3D movies, videos, and sporting events in a more realistic way by presenting the depth of the images. You need to wear a pair of 3D glasses to view the 3D images. Video timing: 480i PC timing: up to 1280x800@120Hz for Frame Sequential PC timing: up to 1280x800@60Hz for Frame Sequential PC timing: up to SXGA+@60Hz for Top-Bottom When the 3D Sync function is On: • The brightness level of the projected image will decrease. • The Picture Mode cannot be adjusted. • The Keystone can only be adjusted within limited degrees. 3D Sync InvertWhen you discover the inversion of the image depth, enable this function to correct the problem. 1. Operation 60 Function Description Teaching Template Provides several preset patterns for various teaching purposes. Choose Blackboard or Whiteboard first by pressing / and press / to choose the pattern you need. Press MODE/ENTER to display the selected pattern. Picture ModePre-defined picture modes are provided so you can optimize your projector image set-up to suit your program type. See Selecting a picture mode on page 31 for details. Reference ModeSelects a picture mode that best suits your need for the image quality and further fine-tune the image based on the selections listed on the same page below.
