The battery life expectancy depends on the operating environment as temperature extremes shorten the batter y life. It is recommended that you do not disable the audible aler t unless you intend to replace the batter y within a short time. A chirping tone sounds to aler t you that when the battery is exhausted and needs replacing. The duration of the chirping sound is 0.2 seconds and happens once ever y 5 seconds.
