121 - iBook G4 (14-inch) Take Apart Fan: iBook G4 (14-inch) Procedure Warning: The heatsink pipe can bend easily. Use caution when handling the heatsink. 1. With the computer on a soft cloth, remove the four identical screws from the fan plate. 2. Lift the fan plate up from the fan. 3. Install the replacement fan, and reassemble and test the computer.

To prevent damage, do not flex the board. 1. With the computer on a soft cloth, make sure the following cables are disconnected from the logic board: • Optical drive • Bluetooth • Sleep light

Turn over the frame, and remove the following from the logic board: • One 4.5 mm long screw • Six 3.5 mm long screws Replacement Note: When replacing the logic board, install the screws in the order shown. The wide head 3.5-mm long screw is located at position 5.

Replacement Note: The frame includes two integral mylar stickers. Make sure the stickers are in place before reassembling the computer.
