Chapter 371 Removing the Mainboard 1.See “Removing the Upper Cover” on page 57. 2.Unlock the microphone cable connector and disconnect the cable. 3.Disconnect the LVDS cable.
72Chapter 3 4.Remove the one (1) securing screw from the Mainboard. 5.Lift the right edge of the mainboard first to free it from the lower case, without removing the mainboard completely from the chassis. Chapter 373 6.Carefully turn the mainboard over and place it on a clean, dust-free surface. CAUTION: Do not use excessive force when turning the mainboard over as it is still connected to the chassis by the power cable. 7.Disconnect the power cable. 8.Remove the mainboard from the chassis and turn it over. NOTE: Circuit boards >10 cm² have been highlighted with a yellow rectangle as shown in the previous image. Please detach the Circuit board and follow local regulations for disposal.
74Chapter 3 9.Remove the adhesive tape from the bluetooth cable. 10.Unlock the connector and disconnect the bluetooth to mainboard cable.

Chapter 377 Removing the CPU IMPORTANT: The pins on the underside of the CPU are very delicate. If they are damaged, the CPU may malfunction. Place the CPU on a clean, dry surface when it is not installed. 1.See “Removing the Thermal Module” on page 75. 2.Using a flat-bladed screw driver, rotate the CPU locking screw 180° counter-clockwise as shown. 3.Lift the CPU clear of the socket as shown.
