							This appliance is for HOUSEHOLD USE ONLY. It may be plugged into any 120-volt AC electrical outlet (ordinary
household current). Do not use any other type of outlet.
HOW TO USE THIS TOASTER
This toaster can be used to toast from one to four slices of bread or other toaster foods, including bagels, pastries
or English muffins, at one time.
To operate, adjust the shade selector to the desired setting. Exact settings are difficult to recommend due to
personal preference; experiment to suit individual taste. Thick foods and those containing fillings will require a
longer toasting time. Slide shade selector to a medium or high setting to increase time. Some frozen pastries and
toaster foods may require twoheating cycles for proper results.
Remove all protective wrappings from food before placing in toasting wells. (Avoid toasting torn slices of bread
and broken pastries, which may get lodged in toasting wells.)
Place bread or toaster food into toasting wells and depress the toaster lever.
ADJUSTABLE BREAD GUIDES:The adjustable bread guides automatically center bread or toaster food for even
toasting.
Cool-wall construction will help to prevent burns if toaster is accidentally touched while it is operating.
When toast or toaster food is ready, it will pop up automatically, and the toaster will switch off.
NOTE:Do not make adjustments to the shade selector while the toaster is in use. To interrupt the cycle, gently
raise the toaster lever.
AUTO POWER-OFF:If food becomes ÒjammedÓ, the Auto Power-Off function will automatically shut the power off.
Never use metal utensils to free food. Unplug the cord from the outlet and move the toaster lever up and down a
few times to raise ÒjammedÓ food.
This appliance requires little maintenance. It contains no user serviceable parts. Do not try to repair it yourself.
Refer it to qualified personnel if servicing is needed.
TO CLEAN: Unplug toaster and allow it to cool fully. 
NOTE: NEVER IMMERSE TOASTER IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID. NEVER USE A METAL IMPLEMENT TO
DISLODGE CRUMBS.
CRUMB TRAY:Open the crumb tray by grasping the knob on the base and sliding the tray toward the cord while
lifting. Brush crumbs from the tray and, if necessary, wipe with a clean, damp cloth. Always dry the tray thoroughly
before closing it. When closing the tray, be sure that the latch catches on the slot.
CAUTION: TO PREVENT COUNTERTOP FROM BEING DAMAGED, THE TOASTER MUST BE OPERATED WITH THE
CRUMB TRAY IN PLACE, SECURELY CLOSED AND CLEANED OF EXCESS FOOD. ALWAYS UNPLUG THE TOASTER
WHEN NOT USING.
EXTERIOR:Wipe surface with a clean, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, as they may scratch the surface.
TO STORE:Unplug the toaster and store in its box or in a clean, dry place. Do not put stress on the cord where it
enters the unit, as it could cause the cord to fray and break.

LINE CORD SAFETY TIPS
1. Never pull or yank on the cord or the appliance.
2. To insert plug, grasp it firmly and guide it into outlet.
3. To disconnect appliance, grasp plug and remove it from outlet.
4. Before each use, inspect the line cord for cuts and/or abrasion marks. If any are found, call Consumer 
Assistance for information at: 1-203-926-3230. 
5. Never wrap the cord tightly around the appliance, as this could place undue stress on the cord where 
it enters  the appliance and cause it to fray and break.
DO NOT OPERATE APPLIANCE IF THE LINE CORD SHOWS ANY DAMAGE, OR IF APPLIANCE WORKS
INTERMITTENTLY OR STOPS WORKING ENTIRELY.
A short power supply cord is provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over 
a longer cord.
Longer detachable power supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised 
in their use.
If a longer detachable power supply cord or extension cord is used, (1) the marked electrical rating of the
extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and (2) the cord should be
arranged so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped
over unintentionally.
IMPORTANT: 
Before using, operate the toaster without bread in order to burn off residues on the heating elements. When doing
