REWIND: During Video Playback, rewinds the playing video. NAVIGATES MENU: Navigates within the Menus. RIGHT PLAYBACK: Opens the Playback Mode. NEXT IMAGE: Displays the next image. FAST FORWARD: During Video Playback, fast forwards the playing video. NAVIGATES MENU: Navigates within the Menus. UP / T NAVIGATES MENU: Navigates within the Menus. DOWN / W THUMBNAIL VIEW: Opens the Thumbnail View. To navigate in the Thumbnail View press the UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT buttons and the SHUTTER button to select an image. STOP: During Video Playback, stops and exits the playing video. NAVIGATES MENU: Navigates within the Menus. Other SHUTTER/OK IMAGE SELECTION: In Thumbnail View, confirms and opens the image to full size. START/PAUSE: During Video Playback, stops and pauses the playing video. ENTERS and SAVES SELECTION: Within the Menu, enters and saves the selected Menu Option. MENU MENU: Opens and exits the menu options for Playback Mode. NOTE: Use the UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT buttons to navigate. MODE (M) MODE SELECTION: Toggles between the Photo Capture Mode and Video Capture Mode

Item Function Description 1 File Type Indicator Photo File Video File 2 Protect/Lock The key symbol indicates the image is locked. 3 Video Counter No. of the captured video. 4 Time Counter Standby Mode: Displays the amount of video that can be captured as per the selected resolution and Micro SD Memory card size. Video Playback: Displays the elapsed video playback time. 5 Resolution Selection Displays in which resolution the video was captured: 720P; VGA 640 x 480; QVGA 320 x 240

Indication to replace batteries. 7 Video Controls Displays the video control options during video playback: SHUTTER/OK: Play and Pause LEFT: Rewind RIGHT: Fast Forward DOWN: Stop/Exit VIDEO PLAYBACK MODE MENUS ACCESS THE MENUS To access the Video Playback menus: 1) Press the MENU/ DELETE button in Playback Mode. NOTE: This is the Quick Function button to easily access and open the ‘Delete’ menu. 2) Then press the MENU button again and hold until the following menu options display: Delete, Protect, Slide Show NOTE: The ‘Delete’ menu option appears again. DELETE MENU While in the Playback Mode, you can quickly delete videos from your camera through the Delete menu. You can delete a single photograph / video clip, or delete all images saved to the SD card. To delete a captured image: 1) Press the PLAYBACK button to enter the Playback Mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select a photograph or video you would like to delete. Press the Quick Function MENU/ DELETE button once to open ‘Delete’ Menu.

The following options appear for the selected Video: ‘This Video’ or ‘All’. TO DELETE A SINGLE PHOTO OR VIDEO: - Press the DOWN or UP button to select: ‘This Image’ / ‘This Video’ - Press the SHUTTER/OK button to confirm and save your selection. - A window appears requesting your confirmation to ‘Erase This?’ Press the DOWN or UP button to select ‘OK’ to automatically erase the selected photo/video or ‘Cancel’ to exit without erasing the photo/video. - Press the SHUTTER/OK button to confirm and save your selection. TO DELETE ALL YOUR CAPTURED PHOTOS AND VIDEOS: - Press the DOWN or UP button to select: ‘All’ - A window appears requesting your confirmation to ‘Erase All Images?’ Press the DOWN or UP button to select ‘OK’ to automatically erase all images or ‘Cancel’ to exit without erasing. - Press the SHUTTER/OK button to confirm and save your selection. NOTE: Press the MENU button at any time to exit the ‘Delete’ menu. Images that are protected cannot be deleted. First unlock the image(s), and then proceed with deletion. It is highly recommend first to save and download your images before deleting. Keep in mind that deleting will permanently remove the selected images on your camera’s memory card.
Downloaded from www.Manualslib.com manuals search engine 44 PROTECT MENU Pictures and videos taken with your camera can be protected or “locked” to prevent any deletion or alteration being made to the files. 1) Press the PLAYBACK button to enter the Playback Mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select a photograph or video you would like to protect/lock. 3) Press the MENU button, and then hold and press again until the Menu options are shown. Press the DOWN or UP button to select the ‘Protect’ menu option. Press the SHUTTER/OK button to confirm your selection and open the Protect submenu options: Lock, Unlock, Lock All, Unlock All TO LOCK THE SELECTED IMAGE: To lock the selected image use the DOWN or UP button to highlight and select ‘Lock’ and then press the SHUTTER/OK button to confirm. The image now appears in Playback Mode with the lock icon . TO UNLOCK THE SELECTED IMAGE: To unlock the selected locked image use the DOWN or UP button to highlight ‘Unlock’ and then press the SHUTTER/OK button to save and confirm your selection. The image now appears in Playback Mode without the lock icon. TO LOCK ALL IMAGES: To lock all captured videos and photos use the DOWN or UP button to highlight ‘Lock All’ and then press the SHUTTER/OK button. All images now appear in Playback Mode with the lock icon . TO UNLOCK ALL IMAGES: To unlock all locked videos and photos use the DOWN or UP button to highlight ‘Unlock All’ and then press the SHUTTER/OK button. The images now appear in Playback Mode without the lock icon. 4) Press the MENU button to exit the menu screen.

Images that are not locked do not display the lock symbol. Locked images cannot be deleted. You must first unlock the image(s) and then select the ‘Delete’ menu option. SLIDE SHOW MENU You can view a Slide Show of all the pictures taken with your camera. The Slide Show menu allows you to set the interval length of time that each picture will display during the Slide Show. 1) Press the PLAYBACK button to enter the Playback Mode. 2) Press the MENU button, and then hold and press again until the Menu options are shown. 3) Press the DOWN or UP button to select the ‘Slide Show’ menu option. 4) Press the SHUTTER/OK button to confirm your selection and open the Slide Show submenu options: 2 Seconds, 5 Seconds, 8 Seconds (time between displaying each photo) 5) Press the DOWN or UP button to select an option. 6) Press the SHUTTER/OK button to confirm your selection and automatically begin playing the Side Show. 7) Press the SHUTTER/OK button to stop the Slide Show and return to Playback Mode.
Downloaded from www.Manualslib.com manuals search engine 46 Setup Menu Options ACCESS THE MENU To access the Camera Setup Menu: 1) Press the MENU button while in the Photo Capture Mode or Video Capture Mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select the Camera Setup. 3) Press the DOWN or UP button to select a specific menu. 4) Press the Shutter button to confirm and save your selection and open the options for the menu you have selected. 5) To select a specific option, press the DOWN or UP button and then the SHUTTER/OK button to save the selected option and return to the Main Menu. NOTE: At any time you can press the MENU button to exit the menus and return to the previous screen. Once you change a setting, the setting is saved by your camera until you manually change the setting or restore the camera’s default factory settings. CAMERA SETUP MAIN MENU OPTIONS The following are the menu options that appear in your camera’s general Camera Setup Menu: Main Menu Name Menu Options Menu Description Date/Time Date (YY/MM/DD) Time (Hour : Minute : Second) When you capture an image with your camera, the image will include a time stamp with the date and time that the image was taken. The Date/Time menu allows you to set your camera’s date and time as desired. You can also disable the timestamp for future images that will be taken with your camera using the Date Stamp menu.
Downloaded from www.Manualslib.com manuals search engine 47 Auto Power Off Off 1 Minute 3 Minutes You can use the Auto Power Off feature in order to conserve you camera’s battery life. The designated time represents when your camera will automatically power off. When the camera sits idle for the designated period of time, the camera will shut off completely and will need to be powered on again with the power button before the next use. Beep Sound Off On You have the option of disabling/activating the camera’s beep sounds heard when performing camera functions. NOTE: This does not affect the recording of sound during video capture. Language English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese Displays language selection. You can select your camera’s language setting by selecting the desired language from the Language menu. Date Stamp Date/Time Date Off The captured photo can appear with the set date and time, or with the date or without the date and time. When ‘Off’ is selected, date/time stamp will not appear on photos taken. Frequency 50Hz 60Hz The options in the Frequency menu represent the frequency of the electrical current in fluorescent lighting sources in your locale. If your camera is set to a frequency that does not match your country’s electric current, you may see waves on the images taken by your camera. 50Hz – UK, Europe and Australia 60Hz – US, Canada and South America Format SD Card > Cancel, OK You can use the Format Memory Card menu to delete all of the content that is currently on your camera’s memory card. Keep in mind that formatting the memory card will permanently delete all of the content on your camera’s memory card. This option will delete all of the content at one time. If you would like to delete individual images, use the delete menu in the camera’s Playback mode. Default Setting Cancel OK Use this menu to reset your camera settings to the Factory Default Settings. Version Displays the firmware version.
Downloaded from www.Manualslib.com manuals search engine 48 Installing the Software You must be connected to the Internet to install and run the Vivitar Experience™ Image Manager software. 1) Insert the installation CD into your CD-ROM drive. The installation screen should automatically open. 2) WINDOWS: The Vivitar Experience™ Image Manager Installer window appears. If the window does not appear, open the application’s CD/DVD drive and click on “Setup.exe” to launch the installer. MACINTOSH: Click the icon that appears on the desktop to install the Vivitar Experience™ Image Manager. 3) If you do not have Internet access at the time of inserting the CD-ROM, connect to the Internet and then click the “Install Vivitar Experience™ Image Manager” button to begin the installation. Note: If you do not have Internet access, you can still download media from the camera.

Choose your language and click “Next” to open the next window. 5) Select your camera model from the list and click “Next” to open the next window. 6) Click “Next” to confirm your camera model selection and to install the application. 7) Please wait while the application is being installed on your computer. 8) Please review the license terms. On WINDOWS and MACINTOSH: Click the “I accept the terms of this license agreement” and then click “Next” to continue. 9) WINDOWS only: Let the “Vivitar Experience™ Image Manager” installer create the folder to where the program will be installed, and then click “Install”. 10) Please wait while the application continues the installation process on your computer. 11) WINDOWS: Click the “Close” button when the installation is complete. Click the “Launch Vivitar Experience™ Image Manager” to open the application. 12) MACINTOSH: Click the “Quit” button when the installation is complete. Click the “Launch Vivitar Experience™ Image Manager” to open the application. 13) If you close the application you can run the Vivitar Experience™ Image Manager from the Programs (WINDOWS) or Applications (MACINTOSH) menu on your computer. Connecting the Camera to the Computer 1) Use the USB cable that came with your camera to connect your camera to your computer. Open the camera’s USB port (also Micro SD card/Battery) compartment cover. Connect the smaller end of the USB cable to your camera and the larger end to your computer’s USB port. 2) Press the Power button. 3) The first time you connect the device to the computer you may have to wait a few seconds until the computer recognizes the device.
