Downloaded from www.Manualslib.com manuals search engine 22 PHOTO CAPTURE MODE MENUS ACCESSING THE PHOTO CAPTURE MODE MENUS To access and use the Photo Capture Mode menu: 1) While in Photo Capture Mode, press the MENU button to open the Main Menus for the Photo Capture Mode. 2) Press the DOWN or UP button to select a specific menu. The selected option appears highlighted. 3) Press the SHUTTER/OK button to confirm and save your selection and open the submenu options for the menu you have selected. 4) To select a specific option from the submenu list, press the DOWN or UP button and then the SHUTTER/OK button to save the selected option and return to the Main Menu. If you would like to return to the Main Menu list without selecting an option, press the LEFT button. NOTE: The selected setting will remain until you decide to change it again at a later time (except for the Self-Timer feature). Some selected settings appear as an icon on the LCD. 5) At any time you can press the MENU button to exit the menus and return to the previous screen.
Downloaded from www.Manualslib.com manuals search engine 23 PHOTO CAPTURE MODE MAIN MENU OPTIONS The following options appear in the Photo Capture Mode Main Menu: Main Menu Name Menu Options Menu Description Capture Mode Single 10s Timer Single or 10s timer selection. The Capture Mode Menu allows you to choose from either a single photo capture or a 10 second Self-Timer setup. Resolution 12.0M pixel resolution 4032x3024 Resolution size setting. The Resolution menu allows you to choose the desired size of the images taken by your camera. Keep in mind that images with a higher resolution will also take up more of your camera’s memory. 8.0M pixel resolution 3264 x 2448 5.0M pixel resolution 2560 x 1920 3.0M pixel resolution 2048 x 1536 1.3M pixel resolution 1280 x 960 VGA resolution 640 x 480 Quality Super Fine Fine Normal Picture quality setting. The Quality menu allows you to select the desired quality level of the images taken by your camera. Keep in mind that images with a higher image quality level will also take up more memory on your camera. Sharpness Strong Normal Soft Sharpness setting. You can set the level of sharpness in the images taken with your camera. The sharpness level dictates if the edges of objects in the image are more or less distinct. Exposure
Downloaded from www.Manualslib.com manuals search engine 24 White Balance Auto Automatic white balance The White Balance feature allows your camera to adjust the coloring of the captured images depending on the type of light source in the current environment. Properly adjusting the White Balance setting to match your current environment will allow the camera to properly balance the colors in the images that are taken with your camera. Daylight White balance selected for daylight surrounding Cloudy White balance selected for cloudy surrounding Tungsten White balance selected for tungsten lighting Fluorescent White balance selected for fluorescent surrounding Scene Auto Landscape Backlight Night scene Portrait Sports Scene setting. The Scene Menu allows you to choose scene settings that let your camera to adapt properly to your current environment. ISO Auto 50 100 200 Sensitivity select. The ISO menu allows you to set the level of sensitivity that your camera has to light in the surrounding environment. When the ISO level is increased, the image sensor in your camera will be more sensitive to light and allow you to capture images in lower-light situations. The higher sensitivity to light however, may reduce the quality of the images that are taken. When the ISO is reduced, the image sensor in your camera will be less sensitive to light and will optimize the image quality in environments with bright lighting.

The Smile Detection feature when set to ‘On’ allows the camera to automatically take a picture when it detects that a subject in the picture is smiling. Note: To properly use the Smile Capture feature please ensure the following: Macro mode off – Smile Capture will not work if the camera is in Macro mode. Push the Macro Switch on the side of the camera for the mountain icon to appear on the LCD. Anti-Shake - Ensure that the Anti-Shake option is set to ‘On’. The Anti-Shake option is ‘On’ by default when you start using your camera and assists you in properly focusing the image. Distance from the camera – The subject’s face must cover a majority of the picture as ‘seen’ on the LCD screen. Facing the camera - The face of the subject(s) you are photographing must be facing the camera and must hold the pose for at least 4 to 5 seconds until the green square(s) appears around the subject’s face. Once a smile is detected the camera will automatically take the picture. Smile Capture will not work with a side shot of the subject’s head. Anti-Shaking On Off Anti-shaking setting. The Anti-Shaking feature reduces image distortion that can be caused by movement of the camera while capturing the image.

When you first turn on the camera, the camera will be in Photo Capture mode by default. Press the PLAYBACK button to open the Playback Mode. Press the MODE (M) button to exit the Playback Mode and return to Capture Mode. The latest captured image appears on the LCD screen. If there are no images stored, a message (No File) appears. VIEWING PHOTOS ON YOUR CAMERA 1) Selecting Your Photo: Once in Playback Mode, press the LEFT or RIGHT button to scroll through the images on your camera’s memory card until you find the image you would like to view. - Press the LEFT button to view the previous image. - Press the RIGHT button to view the next image. Each captured image (video and photo) is displayed on the LCD screen. Photos appear with a Photo/JPG icon on the top left of the LCD screen. 2) Magnifying of Your Selected Photo: Press the UP/T - Zoom In to Zoom In and magnify the selected photo up to 4x. Press the DOWN/W - Zoom Out button to Zoom Out of the selected photo. To navigate around the magnified photo: Press the SHUTTER button, then use the UP / DOWN / LEFT / RIGHT buttons to navigate around the photo. Press the SHUTTER button again to exit the magnification and return to the full size image.

The images on your camera will be displayed in a 3 X 3 matrix where you can use the direction buttons to scroll and select images from the thumbnails. To access the Thumbnail View: 1) Press the PLAYBACK button to open the Playback Mode. 2) Press the DOWN/W - Zoom Out button. All the images on your camera will appear in the Thumbnail View. 3) Use the UP / DOWN / LEFT / RIGHT buttons to scroll and select the image you wish to view. 4) Press the SHUTTER/OK button to enlarge the selected image full size.

NAVIGATES MENU: Navigates within the Menus. RIGHT PLAYBACK: Opens the Playback Mode. NEXT IMAGE: Displays the next image. NAVIGATES MENU: Navigates within the Menus. UP / T ZOOM: Zooms IN NAVIGATES MENU: Navigates within the Menus. DOWN / W THUMBNAIL VIEW: Opens the Thumbnail View. To navigate in the Thumbnail View press the UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT buttons and the SHUTTER button to select an image. ZOOM: Zooms OUT NAVIGATES MENU: Navigates within the Menus. Other SHUTTER/OK IMAGE SELECTION: In Thumbnail View, confirms and opens the image to full size. ENTERS and SAVES SELECTION: Within the Menu, enters and saves the selected Menu Option. MENU MENU: Opens and exits the menu options for Playback Mode. NOTE: Use the UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT buttons to navigate. MODE (M) MODE SELECTION: Toggles between the Photo Capture Mode and Video Capture Mode.
