20 E Using the self-timer The self-timer duration is 10 seconds. After the activation of the self-timer by press- ing the shutter button, the self-timer lamp starts blinking slowly for 7 seconds and then blinking faster for the rest of 3 seconds. Select this mode for general photography. The flash emits a precursor-flash before the main flash fires. This causes the pupil in the human eye to constrict, reducing the red-eye.
