16ViewSonic PJ658D Powering On/Off the Projector Powering on the projector: 1. Remove the projector lens cap. 2. Complete the AC power cord and per pheral s gnal cable(s) connect ons. 3. Turn on the ma n power sw tch. 4. Press button to turn on the projector. 5. Turn on your source (computer, notebook, DVD, etc.). The projector automat cally detects your source. “Source Found” message w ll appear on the screen when the source s detected, otherw se “For best mage qual ty, lower mage resolut on.” message w ll appear on the screen. When “Search ng” message appears on the screen, ensure that the appropr ate s gnal cable(s) are securely connected. If you are connect ng mult ple sources to the projector s multaneously, press Source button. Warn ng: Remove the lens cap first before powering on. Never look nto the lens when the lamp s on. Th s can damage your eyes. It s espec ally mportant that ch ldren are not allowed to look nto the lens.

ViewSonic PJ658D17 Please wait until the fan motor and the Lamp LED turn off before removing the AC power cord from the projector. Powering Off the Projector: 1. Press button to turn off the projector lamp. You w ll see a message “Press Power Button to Turn Off Projector. Projector must cool down for 90 seconds before unplugg ng or restart ng.” appear on the screen. 2. Press button again to confirm. 3. The cool ng fans cont nue to operate for cool ng cycle and the Lamp LED goes out. When the Power LED begins flashing, the projector has entered standby mode. If you w sh to turn the projector back on, you must wa t unt l the projector has completed the cool ng cycle and has entered standby mode. Once n standby mode, s mply press button to restart the projector. 4. Turn off the ma n power sw tch. 5. D sconnect the power cord from the electr cal outlet and the projector. 6. D o n o t t u r n o n t h e p r o j e c t o r m m e d a t e l y follow ng a power off procedure.

18ViewSonic PJ658D Adjusting the Projected Image Adjusting the Projector Height The projector s equ pped w th an elevator foot to adjust the mage he ght. To ra se or lower the mage: 1. Turn the projector over and locate the elevator foot. Press the elevator button to extend the foot so t may be adjusted. 2. Wh le hold ng down the elevator button, adjust the foot to the des red he ght, then release the button to lock the elevator foot nto pos t on. 3. Use tilt-adjustment foot to fine-tune tilt-adjustment. 4. Lower the projector so t rests on ts foot; adjust as needed. To avoid damaging the projector, make sure that the elevator foot and tilt- adjustment foot are fully retracted before placing the projector in its carrying case. 233 Elevator button Elevator foot T lt-adjustment foot

Rotate to the r ght to enlarge the mage. Rotate to the left to reduce the mage. Do not use the projector in a smoky environment. 22ViewSonic PJ658D How to operate 1. Press MENU button to open the OSD menu. 2. When OSD s d splayed, use / buttons to select any feature n the ma n menu. After select ng the des red ma n menu feature, press button to enter sub-menu for feature sett ng. 3. Adjust the sett ngs w th / buttons. 4. Press MENU button, the screen w ll return to the ma n menu. 5. To ex t OSD, press MENU button aga n. The OSD menu w ll close and the projector w ll automat cally save the new sett ngs.

ViewSonic PJ658D23 All Images (Computer / Video Mode) Brightness Adjust the br ghtness of the mage. Press the button to darken the mage. Press the button to l ghten the mage. Contrast The contrast controls the degree of d fference between the l ghtest and darkest parts of the p cture. Adjust ng the contrast changes the amount of black and wh te n the mage. Press the button to decrease the contrast. Press the button to ncrease the contrast. Color Setting Press the button to enter Color Temperature sub-menu and adjust the color temperature. At h gher temperature the screen looks colder; at lower temperature, the screen looks warmer. If you select “User”, “Red”, “Green” and “Blue” cab be adjusted. Keystone Adjusts mage d stort on caused by t lt ng project on (± 16o). Aspect Ratio Use th s funct on to choose your des red aspect rat o. 1:1 : Keep the mage w th or g nal w dth-he ght rat o and max m ze the mage to fit native horizontal or vertical pixels. 4:3 : The input source will be scaled to fit the projection screen. 16:9 : The input source will be scaled to fit the width of the screen. Video Mode There are many factory presets opt m zed for var ous types of mages. PC : For computer or notebook. Mov e : For home theater. sRGB : For PC standard color. User : Memor ze user’s sett ngs. White Intensity Use the wh te Segment control to set the wh te peak ng level of DMD ch p. 0 stands for m n mal segment, and 10 stands for max mum segment. If you prefer a stronger mage, adjust towards the max mum sett ng. For a smooth and more natural mage, adjust towards the m n mum sett ng. Degamma Effects the represent of dark scenery. W th greater gamma value, dark scenery w ll look br ghter.

24ViewSonic PJ658D Computer Image (Computer Mode) Frequency “Frequency”changes the d splay data frequency to match the frequency of your computer’s graphic card. If you experience a vertical flickering bar, use this function to make an adjustment. Tracking “Track ng” synchron zes the s gnal t m ng of the d splay w th the graph c card. If you experience an unstable or flickering image, use this function to correct it. Hor. Position (Horizontal Position) Press the button to move the mage left. Press the button to move the mage r ght. Ver. Position (Vertical Position) Press the button to move the mage down. Press the button to move the mage up. Video Image (Video Mode) Saturation Adjusts a v deo mage from black and wh te to fully saturated color. Press the button to decrease the amount of color n the mage. Press the button to ncrease the amount of color n the mage. Sharpness Adjusts the sharpness of the mage. Press the button to decrease the sharpness. Press the button to ncrease the sharpness. Tint Adjusts the color balance of red and green. Press the button to ncrease the amount of green n the mage. Press the button to ncrease the amount of red n the mage. Audio (Computer / Video Mode) Volume Press the button to decrease the volume. Press the button to ncrease the volume. Mute Choose the “On” to turn mute on. Choose the “Off” to turn mute off.

Projection Mode Rear-Desktop When you select th s funct on, the projector reverses the mage so you can project beh nd a translucent screen. Rear-Ceiling When you select th s funct on, the projector reverses and turns the mage ups de down at same t me. You can project from beh nd a translucent screen w th ce l ng mounted project on. Front-Ceiling When you select th s funct on, the projector turns the mage ups de down for ce l ng- mounted project on. Front-Desktop The factory default sett ng. Signal Type Specifies the signal source that you wish to project. YPbPr: For compos te v deo cable. RGB: For VGA cable. YCbCr: For S-V deo cable. Lamp Hour D splays Hour the lamp’s elapsed operat ng t me ( n hours). Lamp Reset Choose “Yes“ to turn the lamp hour counter to 0 hours. Power Saving If no operation is performed for a specific period of time, the power to the projector is automat cally turned off. Th s feature s useful to reduce battery wear. Choose “Yes” and press MENU button to enter ts sub-menu, and choose your des red power sav ng t me. Auto Source Automat cally scans the nput source. ECO Mode Choose “Yes” to d m the projector lamp wh ch w ll lower power consumpt on, extend the lamp l fe and reduce no se. Choose “No” to return normal mode. OSD Timeout Durat on OSD menu stays act ve (at dle state by second).
