The Door Answer Unit (also known as the Dozr Answer 
Control) is installed next to, and connects with; the KSU. It - 
serves as the interface between tie system’s stations and tie 
one dr two installed Door Modules (also know as the D&r’ 
Answer Bqxes) at the c&red doors br entryways. 
Up to 31 Off Premises Extension/ 
Data Interface (OPX) units 
Part Number 90-0308 
The OPX knit converts a 2,wb-e interface to a Z-wire irtJer- 
face, ailowing a single line telephone to be connected to any 
spare station jack - except station 10. It also allows Z-wire 
devides to be connected at a distance greater &an the system 
2000 feet limit for Sets. The OPX unit also simuIates CO

Site Preparation . 
Because ihe.KSU is at tie heart of the operation of the 
Panther 1032 Electronic Key Telephone System, ensure that 
its installation site meets the following criteria: 
l Clean, dry, and well ventilated (should meet the en- 
vironment+l requirements listed in Section C)

Backboard I&aUation 
If the JCXJ is to bemounted on a concrete or masonry wall, 
a l&inch thick pfywood backboard is recommended. 
Depending on the wall’s construction and your me&xi of in- 
stalling the backboard, you might need screwdrivers 
(various kinds and sizes), drills and bits (various sizes), # 10 
masonry screws with plastic anchors (4 of each), or l/4” 
screws with wall grip screw anchors (4 of each).

a. Markthe position of the 4 screw holes needed to 
mount the KSU on the backboard. 
b. Drive four screws (supplied) until their heads are

side flanges of the KSU cabinet; hang the unit on 
the four screws and tighten them secureIy.
