4.18 LCD Module and Inverter Board 
Removing the LCD Module and Inverter Board 
Remove the LCD module and the inverter board according to the following procedures and 
Figure 4.36, 4.37, 4.38 and 4.39. 
1. Remove one M2x4 screw securing the inverter board and detach two cables con\
nected to 
the two ends of the inverter. Then remove the inverter board.

2. Remove ten M2.5x4 screws securing the LCD module to the LCD cover assembly and 
detach one cable from camera. 
3.  Lift the LCD module out of the LCD cover assembly.

4. Remove six M2x3 screws according to the sequence indicated in Figure 4.38 o\
n each side 
of the LCD hinge assembly and then remove the LCD hinge assembly.

5.  Turn the LCD module over and place it face down on a protective surface, such as a foa\
m 
pad. 
6.  Remove the tape and LVDS cable connector. Then detach the LVDS cable.

NOTE:  
ICs are fragile. Use extreme care not to apply pressure to the ICs along\
 the edges of the LCD 
module. 
Dispose of used LCD panels (fluorescent (FL) tubes) as required by local ordinances or 
regulations. 
The LVDS cable must be carefully peeled away before disconnecting it fro\
m the LCD panel. 
 
Installing the LCD Module and Inverter Board 
Install the inverter board according to the following procedures. 
1. Place the LCD module cover face down on a protective surface such as a foam pad. 
2.  Connect the LVDS cable to the LCD panel connector. 
3.  Turn the LCD right side up. 
4.  Seat the LCD hinge assembly in the correct position beside the LCD panel and secure it 
with six M2x3 screws. 
5.  Seat the LCD module in the correct position in the LCD cover assembly and secure it to 
the LCD cover assembly with ten M2.5x4 screws. 
6.  Seat the inverter board in correct position and connect two cables to th\
e two ends of the 
inverter board. Then secure it with one M2x4 screw.

4.19 Camera (BTO) 
Removing the Camera 
Remove the camera according to the following procedures and Figure 4.40. 
1. Pick the camera up from the LCD cover.

Install the camera according to the following procedures.  1. Put the camera in the correct position on the LCD cover.

4.20 Hinge Saddle 
Removing the Hinge Saddle 
Remove the hinge saddle according to the following procedures and Figure 4.\
41. 1.  Remove two M2.5x6 screws that secure the hinge saddles to the logic lower a\
ssembly. 
2.  Remove the hinge saddles from the logic lower assembly.

Install the hinge saddle according to the following procedures. 
1.  Seat the hinge saddles in the correct position on the logic lower assembly.

1. Remove one M2.5x3 screw that secures the USB board to the logic lower assem\
bly.

Installing the USB Board 
Install the USB board according to the following procedures. 
1.  Seat the USB board in the correct position on the logic lower assembly. 
2.  Secure the USB board to the logic lower assembly with one M2.5x3 screw.

4.22 RJ11 Jack 
Removing the RJ11 Jack 
Remove the RJ11 jack according to the following procedures and Figure 4.43.\
 
1. Pick up the RJ11 jack from the socket on the logic lower assembly and pull the cable out of 
the routing channel.

Installing the RJ11 Jack 
Install the RJ11 Jack according to the following procedures. 
1.  Seat the RJ11 jack in the socket on the logic lower assembly. 
2.  Align the cable to the routing channel on the logic lower assembly.

Appendix A  Handling the LCD Module 
Precautions for handling the LCD module 
The LCD module can be easily damaged during assembly or disassembly. Observe the following 
precautions when handling it to prevent damaging it. 
 1. When installing the LCD module in the display assembly, make sure that you seat it so 
that it is properly aligned and maximum visibility of the display is maintained. 
 
 
2.  Be careful to align the holes at the four corners of the LCD module with the 
corresponding holes in the LCD cover before securing the module with screws.  
Do not force the module into place, because stress can affect its performance. 
Note: The panel’s polarized surface is easily scratched and damaged, so handle it 
carefully.

							3. If the panel’s surface gets dirty or moist, wipe  it with cotton or a soft cloth. If it is still 
dirty, try breathing on the surface to create a light condensate and wip\
e it again.  
If the surface is very dirty, we recommend a CRT cleaning agent. Apply the agent to a 
soft cloth and then wipe the panel’s surface. Do not apply cleanser d\
irectly to the panel.

4.  If water or other liquid is left on the panel’s surface for a long pe\
riod, it can change the 
screen’s tint or stain it.  Be sure to quickly wipe off any liquid.
