PREPARING THEGUNFORSTORAGE: afterthor- oughcleaningswaballmetalsurfacesgenerously withapreservativegrease.(Becarefultoremove aIItracesofgreasefromtheborebeforesubsequent use.) Wrapthegreasedweaponinheavypaperand sealallopenings.Someshootersfindthataplastic bagorflannellinedcarryingcaseisideallysuited forstoragepurposes. DISASSEMBLYOFTHELUGERPISTOL: 1.Openbreechbyactivatingtoggles(E).Withempty magazineinplace,breechwillremaininopen position. 2.Re[1lovemagazinebydepressingreleasebutton (A)locatedonleftsideimmediatelybehindthe trigger. 3.Removegripscrews(G)andwoodengrippanels frombothsidesofthegun.Toavoiddamaging, thescrewheadsuseascrewdriveroftheproper size. 4.Removesearbarretainingscrew(H)whichis locatedontheleftsideimmediatelyabovethe trigger. 5.Withapinpunchofthepropersizeremovemain frameassemblypin(I)whichislocatedatthe bottom,rearportionofthegrip.Allpinsshould bepunchedoutfromleft-to-rightandinstalled right-to-Ieft. 6.PlacesafetyinFIREposition. 7.Closethetogglemechanismanddepresstake- downplunger(J)atthebackoftheframebeneath rearsight.
8.Grasptogglemechanismwithleftthumband forefingerandliftupgently.IMPORTANT - the spring-activatedtakedownplunger(J)canflyfree astheinnermechanismclearstheframebesure tocupyourrighthandoverthisareatocatchthe plungerandspring. DONOTDISASSEMBLEFURTHER:theabove- describedfieldstrippingprocedurerendersall surfacesavailabletocleaningandlubricating- nofurthertake-downisnecessary. ASSEMBLINGTHELUGER: 1.Inserttakedownplungerandspring(J)inrearof boltwaysblockassembly(K). 2.Holdguninrighthandsothattherightthumb candepressthemagazinecatch(A).Withthe lefthandgraspthefiringassemblybetweenthe leftthumbandmiddlefingersothatthepalm ofthelefthandislayingoverthetopofthe toggles.Insertthisunitintotheframebyslid- ingthemagazineguide(M)intothegripwell. Whenthetakedownplunger(J)nearsthere- ceiver,positionthelowerhalfofthetakedown plungerbuttonagainsttheinnertopsurfaceof therearreceiverwall.Byapplyingpressurewith thelefthanditispossibletocompressthe takedownplunger(J)againstitsspringanda slightdownwardslap,withthepalmofthehand, willseattheentirefiringapparatus.Whenprop- erlyseatedthetakedownplungershouldextend intoitsrecessintherearwalloftheframe. 3.Movetriggerslightlyrearwardandpressdown lightyonthesearbar(L).Thesearbarmust (Continnedonfollowingpage) 13
engagethetriggerand,whenproperlyinstalled, thesearbarpinwillengagethecorresponding holeinthesearbar.(SeeNotebelow). 4.Screwinsearbarretainingscrew(H)untilit comestoastopagainstthesearbar.DONOT USE FORCE, thisshouldbealight,snugfit. 5.Turnthegunaroundsothatyouarelookingat therightsideofthegrip.NowinsertanEMPTY magazineinthegrip - thiswillaidinpositioning themagazineguideholes(I).Withalittlepres- sureontopofthetoggles,theholeswiIIeasiIy alignthemselvessothatthemainframepincan beinstalledbyfingerpressure,fromrighttoleft. Theframepinshouldbefittedsothatitpro- trudesequallyfrombothsidesoftheframe. 6.Openthetogglemechanism.Ifthegunisproperly assembledthetogglewillremainintheopen position.Thenremovemagazineandactivate toggleagainsothattheactioncloses. Testthecompletedassemblyfurtherbyputting thesafetyinthe(liSposition)andtryingthe trigger.ITMUSTNOTFIREINTHISPOSITION! Now,movesafetytoFIREposition(beingcare- fulthatchamberisempty)and,again,trythe trigger. Whensatisfiedthatthefirearmisingoodwork- ingorderre-installthegrips,usinggripscrews(G). NOTE:IfthesearbarshouIdbecomeseparated fromthefiringassemblyitcaneasilybere-installed bypositioningitsrearmostpinunderthearmof itscoilspring,asindicatedinthefollowingdiagram:
