Turning the Beam Receive feature on or off
You can turn on or off the Beam Receive feature. 
When you turn off the Beam Receive feature, you cannot receive data via 
beaming but your CLIÉ handheld battery is conserved. By default, the Beam 
Receive feature is set to On.
1Tap the arrow V at the top right of the Preferences screen 
and select General.
2Tap the arrow V next to Beam Receive and select On or

Entering a user name
The User Name setting identifies the name you use when you log into your 
Internet Service Provider (ISP) or dial-in server.
1Tap the User Name field on the Network Preferences 
screen.
2Enter your user name.
Notes
 Although this field can contain multiple lines of text, only two lines appear on-
screen.
 Most dial-in servers do not accept spaces in the user name.

Use the Connection setting to select the method you want to use to connect to 
your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or a dial-in server.

1 Minute: Waits one minute before dropping the connection when you open 
another application that does not use the network.
2 Minutes: Waits two minutes.
3 Minutes: Waits three minutes.
Never: Keeps your PPP or SLIP connection open until you turn off your CLIÉ 
handheld (or until it times out).

Creating additional service templates
You can create additional service templates from scratch or by duplicating 
existing templates and editing the information. After you create a new or 
duplicate template, you can add and edit settings.

Creating log-in scripts
A log-in script is a series of commands that automates logging in to a network 
server, such as your corporate network or your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
You can also use non-ASCII characters or literal characters for Log-in Scripts.
