Programming the Remote Control
In order to use your remote control with other equipment, you need to program your remote 
control.  Use the following procedure to program the remote control.
1Check the list of “Manufacturer’s Codes” on page 6 and find the three-digit code number

TV with Cable, Indoor, or Outdoor Antenna
Depending on the cable system available in your home, choose one of the connections below:

Connecting a TV and VCR
1Connect the coaxial cable from your TV antenna or cable service to the IN jack on your 
VCR.
2Connect a coaxial cable (not supplied) from the OUT jack on your VCR to the VHF/UHF 
jack on the TV.

TV and Cable Box
Some cable TV systems use scrambled or encoded signals that require a cable box to view all 
channels. If you subscribe to that kind of cable service, use this connection. If some, but not all, 
of your channels are scrambled, consider using the cable box and cable connection (see page 
12).
