    Thread Take-up 
    Lever Oil Suppl\b  Adjustment
    Adjust	 the	amount	 of	oi\f	 supp\fied	
    to	 the	 thread	 take\bup	 and	need\fe	
    bar	 crank	 ‘2’	by	 turning	 adjusting	
    pin	’1’ (Figure	8).
    The	 minimum	 amount	of	oi\f	 is	
    reached	 when	marker	 dot	‘A’	is	
    brought	 c\fose	to	need\fe	 bar	crank	
    ‘2’	 by	 turning	 the	adjusting	 pin	’1’ 
    in	direction	’B’.
    3.4
    Lubrication
    Before 	turning 	the 	machine 	on,	
    fi\f\f 	oi\f 	reservoir 	‘1’ 	with 	sewing	
    machine 	oi\f 	up 	to 	‘MAX’ 	mark 	‘A’	
    (Figure 	7).
    When	 the	oi\f	\feve\f	 \fowers	 be\fow	
    ‘MIN’	 mark	‘B’,	refi\f\f	 the	oi\f	reser \b
    voir	with	the	specified	oi\f. When	
    you	operate	 the	machine	 af\b
    ter	 \fubrication,	 you	wi\f\f	see	sp\fash\b
    ing	 oi\f	through	 oi\f	sight	 window	 ‘2’	
    if	the	\fubrication	is	adequate.
    Note	 that	the	amount	 of	the	 sp\fash\b
    ing	 oi\f	is	unre\fated	 to	the	 amount	
    of	the	\fubricating	oi\f.

    When you first o\berate  your machine after set 
    u\b or after an extended  \beriod of disuse\f run 
    your machine at 2\f000 
    to 2\f500 s\bm for about  10 minutes for the 
    \bur\bose of bread-in.\c
    Precaution
    The	 maximum	 amount	of	oi\f	 is	
    reached	 when	marker	 dot	‘A’	is	
    brought	 to	the	 position	 just	oppo\b
    site	 from	 the	need\fe	 bar	crank	 by	
    turning	 the	adjusting	 pin	’1’ in	di\b

    Rotating Hook

    Adjustment
    Unused	 machine	 shou\fd	run	id\fe	 for	
    3	 minutes	 (Moderate	 intermittent	
    operation).
    The 	amount 	of 	oi\f 	confirmation 	paper	
    must 	be 	inserted 	in 	the 	state 	when	
    the 	machine 	is 	running 	(Figure 	9).

    The	 amount	 of	oi\f	 can	 be	adjusted	
    according	 to	the	 different	 sewing	
    process	 but	it	must	 be	a	suitab\fe	
    amount. 	Otherwise 	the 	hook 	wi\f\f

    plied to the hook (Figure 11)
    Turning	 the	oi\f	adjusting	 screw	of	the	
    hook	 shaft	bushing	 on	bed	 toward	
    ‘+’	 in	direction	 ‘A’,	the	 oi\f	amount	
    wi\f\f	 be	increased,	 and	toward	 ‘\b‘	in	
    direction	 ‘B’,	the	oi\f	amount	 wi\f\f	be	
    decreased.
    After 	adjustment 	the 	machine 	must	
    be 	id\fing 	for 	thirty 	seconds. 	It 	can 	be	
    confirmed 	the 	state 	of 	oi\f 	supp\fied. Make	
    sure	the	oi\f	in	the	 oi\f	reservoir	
    is	within	‘MAX’	and	‘MIN’.
    The 	confirming 	time 	of 	the 	oi\f	
    amount	 is	5	seconds	 (check	the	pe\b
    riod	of	time	with	a	watch).

    Use	 the	amount	 of	oi\f	 confirmation	
    paper	 for	three	 times	 to	observe	 the

    Turn 	the 	hand 	whee\f 	unti\f 	the 	nee \b
    d\fe 	bar 	reaches 	the 	highest 	point	
    of 	its 	stroke 	( Figure 	12).
    Loosen 	screw 	‘2’ 	and 	ho\fd 	need\fe	
    ‘1’ 	with 	its 	indented 	part 	‘A’ 	facing	
    exact\fy 	to 	the 	right 	in 	direction 	‘B’ .
    Insert 	the 	need\fe 	in 	the 	direction	 of
    	the 	arrow 	unti\f 	it 	wi\f\f 	go 	no 	fur \b
    ther.
    Tighten 	the 	screw 	‘2’ .
    Make 	sure 	the 	\fong 	groove 	‘\f’ 	of	
    the 	need\fe 	is 	facing 	exact\fy 	to 	the	
    \feft 	in 	direction 	‘D’ .

    Fix 	the 	bobbin 	into 	bobbin 	case 	with	
    that 	the 	thread 	open 	end 	is 	directed	
    to 	the 	\feft 	as 	observed 	from 	you.
    Pass	 the	thread	 through	 thread	s\fit	
    ‘A’,	 and	 pu\f\fs	 it	in	 direction	 ‘\f’.	By	
    doing	 so,	the	 thread	 wi\f\f	pass	 un\b

    Stitch Length  Adjustment
    Thread Tension  Adjustment
    Turn	 stitch	 \fength	 dia\f	‘1’	in	the	 direc\b
    tion	 of	the	 arrow,	 and	a\fign	 the	de\b
    sired	 number	 to	marker	 dot	‘A’	on	 the	
    machine	arm	(Figure	15).
    The	 indication	 of	the	 dia\f	 is	in	 mi\f\fi\b
    meters.
    Adjusting needle th\Dread tension 
    (Figure 16) 
    Adjust	 the	tension	 of	need\fe	 thread	
    using	 tension	 adjusting	 nut	‘1’	ac\b
    cording	 to	different	 sewing	condi\b
    tions.
    Turn	 the	nut	 ‘1’	c\fockwise	 (in	direc\b
    tion	‘A’),	the	tension	wi\f\f	increase.
    Turn	 the	nut	 ‘1’	counterc\fockwise	
    (in	 direction	 ‘B’),	the	tension	 wi\f\f	
    decrease.
    When	 you	want	 to	decrease	 the	stitch	
    \fength,	 turn	stitch	 \fength	 dia\f	‘1’	whi\fe	
    pressing	 feed	reverse	 \fever	‘2’	in	the	
    direction	of	the	arrow.
    Adjusting  the  bobbin  thread  ten-
    sion (Figure 17)
    Turn	 the	tension	 adjusting	 screw	‘2’	
    c\fockwise	 (in	direction	 ‘\f’),	the	bob\b
    bin	thread	tension	wi\f\f	increase.
    Turn	 the	screw	 ‘2’	counterc\fockwise	
    (in	 direction	 ‘D’),	the	bobbin	 thread	
    tension	wi\f\f	decrease.

    Thread 
    Take-Up Spring  Adjustment
    The adjustment of the stroke of the 
    thread take-up spring (Figure 18)
    Loosen	setting	screw	‘2’.
    Turn	 the	thread	 tension	 post	‘3’	
    c\fockwise	 (in	direction	 ‘A’),	the	
    stroke	 of	the	 thread	 take\bup	 spring	
    wi\f\f	be	increased.
    Turn	 the	thread	 tension	 post	‘3’	
    counter\bc\fockwise	 (in	direction	 ‘B’),	
    the	 stroke	 of	the	 thread	 take\bup	
    spring	wi\f\f	be	decreased.
    Adjusting the pressure of the thread 
    take-up spring ‘1’ (Figure 19)
    Loosen	 setting	screw	‘2’	and	 take	
    out	thread	tension	assemb\fy	‘5’. Loosen	
    setting	screw	‘4’	and	 turn	
    the	tension	post	‘3’.
    Turn	 the	tension	 post	‘3’	c\fockwise	
    (in	 direction	 ‘A’),	the	pressure	 of	the	
    spring	wi\f\f	be	increased.
    Turn	 the	tension	 post	‘3’	coun\b
    ter	 c\fockwise	 (in	direction	 ‘B’),	the	
    pressure	wi\f\f	be	decreased.
    •	 Usua\f\fy,	 the	thread	 take\bup	 spring	
    ‘1’	 has	 been	 proper\fy	 adjusted	 be\b
    fore	\feaving	the	factory.
    •	 On\fy	 when	 sewing	 specia\f	c\fothes	
    or	 using	 specia\f	 thread	is	readjust\b
    ment	necessary.

    Knee Lifter Height 
    Adjustment
    Presser Foot Lifter  Adjustment
    When	 using	the	knee	 \fifter,	 the	
    standard	 height	of	presser	 foot	is	
    10	mm.
    You	 can	adjust	 the	presser	 foot	\fift	
    up	 to	13	 mm	 by	turning	 the	knee	
    \fifter	 adjusting	 screw	‘1’	(Figure	 20).
    Turn	 the	presser	 foot	\fifter	 ‘1’	in	
    direction	 ‘A’	to	\fift	 the	 presser	 foot	
    (Figure	22).
    The	 presser	 foot	wi\f\f	go	up	about	
    5.5	mm	and	stop. When	
    the	presser	 foot	\fifts	to	over	
    10	 mm,	 be	sure	 that	the	bottom	 end	
    of	 the	 need\fe	 bar	‘2’	in	its	 \fowest	
    position	 does	not	hit	the	 presser	
    foot	‘3’	(Figure	21).
    The	 presser	 foot	wi\f\f	go	back	 to	its	
    origina\f	 position	 when	the	\fifter	 is	
    turned	 down	in	direction	 ‘B’	(Fig\b
    ure	23).

    Presser Foot 
    Pressure 
    Adjustment
    Loosen	 the	nut	 ’2’,	and	 turn	 the	
    presser	 spring	regu\fator	 ‘1’	c\fock\b
    wise	 (in	direction	 ‘A’),	the	pressure	
    of	 the	 presser	 foot	wi\f\f	be	increased	
    (Figure	24).
    Turn	 the	regu\fator	 ‘1’	counter	 c\fock\b
    wise	 (in	direction	 ‘B’),	the	pres\b
    sure	 of	the	 presser	 foot	wi\f\f	be	de\b
    creased. Tighten	nut	‘2’.
    For	
    genera\f	 sewing	of	the	 fabrics,	
    the	 standard	 height	of	the	 presser	
    spring	 regu\fator	 ‘1’	wi\f\f	 be	around	
    33~36	mm	(5	kg).

    Feed Timing 
    Adjustment
    Loosen	 screws	‘2’	and	 ‘3’	in	feed	
    eccentric	 cam	‘1’,	move	 the	feed	
    eccentric	 cam	‘1’	in	the	 direction	
    of	 the	 arrow	 or	opposite	 direction	
    of	 the	 arrow,	 and	firm\fy	 tighten	 the	
    screws	‘2’	and	‘3’	(Figure	25).
    For	 the	standard	 adjustment,	 adjust	
    so	 that	 the	top	 surface	 of	feed	 dog	
    and	 the	top	 end	 of	need\fe	 eye\fet	
    are	 flush	 with	top	surface	 of	throat	 p\fate	
    when	 the	feed	 dog	descends	
    be\fow	the	throat	p\fate.
    To	 advance	 the	feed	 timing	 in	order	
    to	 prevent	 uneven	materia\f	 feed,	
    move	the	 feed	eccentric	 cam	in	the	
    direction	of	the	arrow.
    To	 de\fay	 the	feed	 timing	 in	order	 to	
    increase	 stitch	tightness,	 move	the	
    feed	 eccentric	 cam	in	the	 direction	
    from	the	arrow.

    Feed Dog Height 
    Adjustment
    When	 the	feed	 dog	‘A’	is	at	 its	 high\b
    est	 position,	 the	teeth	 shou\fd	 be	
    above	 the	top	 surface	 of	the	 throat	
    p\fate	 ‘B’	as	the	 be\fow	 height	 for	
    each	machine	variety	(Figure	26). Loosen	screw	‘2’	of	crank	‘1’.
    Move	
    the	feed	 bar	up	or	down	 to	
    make	a	correct	height.
    Secure\fy	tighten	screw	‘2’.
