57 Appendix Regarding the Lamp LampIt is recommended that the lamp (sold separately) be replaced when the remaining lamp life becomes 5% or less, or when you notice a significant deterioration in the picture and color quality. The lamp life (percentage) can be checked with the on-screen display. (See page 47.) 58 Removing and Installing the Lamp Unit • Make sure that you remove the lamp unit by the handle. Do not touch the glass surface of the lamp unit or the inside of the projector. • To avoid injury to yourself and damage to the lamp, make sure you carefully follow the steps below. • Do not loosen other screws except for the lamp unit cover and lamp unit. Press SSTANDBY/ON on the pro- jector or eSTANDBY on the re- mote control to put the projector into standby mode. • Wait until the cooling fan stops....

59 Appendix Remove the lamp unit.• Loosen the securing screws from the lamp unit. Hold the lamp unit by the handle and pull it in the direction of the arrow.
