When the shutter release button is pressed, the self-timer indicator flashes for about 7 seconds, then flashes rapidly for about 2 seconds, and then is lit for 1 second to indicate the timing at which the shutter will be released. NOTE iWhen using the self-timer function, be sure to use a tripod or place the digital camera on a level, stable surface. 39English OTHER SHOOTING FUNCTIONS HINT About the focus iIn self-timer photography, the autofocus is activated just before the shutter is released to produce a focussed image. To pause or cancel the self-timer function... iIf the shutter release button is pressed again before the image is captured, the self-timer countdown temporarily stops. Press the shutter release button one more time to restart the self-timer. iTo cancel self-timer photography, select the self-timer off icon and press the SET button. iThe self-timer setting automatically changes to off after the picture is snapped. Displaying the Shooting Setting Screen 1 Set the main switch to [ ] or [ ], and turn on the camera (see page 23). [ ]: The camera is set to the still image/sequential shooting mode. Sports Capture a split-second image of a fast- moving subject. Por trait Enhance the 3D feeling of the subject by blurring the background. Landscape For beautiful shots of distant scenery. Sepia Create a sepia-tone photo. Monochrome Snap black-and-white photos. Slim –Change the vertical-horizontal proportions of the subject. Composite––Select a frame to create a composite photo.
