Sharing content between app windows You can easily share content between apps, such as Email and Internet, by dragging and dropping it. Some apps may not support this feature. 1 Launch Email and Internet in Multi window. You can also launch them in pop-up windows. 2 Tap the circle between the app windows, and then tap . 3 Tap and hold text or an image in the Internet window and drag it to a location in the Email window. The selected item will be inserted into the Email window.

If Multi window is not activated, open the All apps screen, tap Settings → Multi window , and then tap the Multi window switch to activate it. Alternatively, open the quick settings panel and tap Multi window to activate it. Pop-up Multi window 1 On the All apps screen, launch an app to use in a pop-up window. 2 Drag down diagonally from either end of the top edge. The app screen will appear in a pop-up window. Switch to a floating icon. Close the window. Switch to the full screen view. Move content.

To close the window, tap the circle at the top of the window and tap . Launching pop-up windows from the split screen Multi window 1 On the split screen Multi window, tap an app window to launch it in a pop-up window. 2 Tap and hold the circle between the app windows. The selected app will launch in a pop-up window. Launching pop-up windows from the Multi window tray Tap and hold to open the Multi window tray. Tap an app icon in the Multi window tray to launch it in a pop-up window. If Multi window is not activated, open the All apps screen, tap Settings → Multi window , and then tap the Multi window switch to activate it. Alternatively, open the quick settings panel and tap Multi window to activate it.
Motions & usability features 64 One-handed operation An introduction You can switch to one-handed operation mode to conveniently operate the device with one hand. On the All apps screen, tap Settings → Display and wallpaper → One-handed operation. Reducing the screen size Tap Reduce screen size and tap the Reduce screen size switch to activate it. To switch to one-handed operation mode, hold the device in one hand. Then, quickly drag your thumb from the edge of the screen to the centre of the screen and back again.

Tap or to adjust the size and position of the dialling keypad, in-call buttons, and other input panels for easy one-handed access. Side key panel Tap Side key panel and tap the Side key panel switch to activate it. Use your device more easily with one hand by having the Recents key, the Home key, and the Back key and other selected functions as buttons at the side of the screen. Increasing touchscreen sensitivity Use this feature to operate the screen while wearing gloves. On the All apps screen, tap Settings → Display and wallpaper, and then tick Increase touch sensitivity . Alternatively, open the quick settings panel and tap Touch sensitivity to activate it. • Use leather gloves for better recognition while touching the screen. Other types of material may not be recognised. • This feature may not work properly when you are using S view. For best results, tap the screen firmly while wearing gloves.
66 Personalising Managing the Home and All apps screens Managing the Home screen Adding items Tap and hold an app or a folder from the All apps screen, and then drag it to the Home screen. To add widgets, tap and hold an empty area on the Home screen, tap Widgets, tap and hold a widget, and then drag it to the Home screen. Moving and removing an item Tap and hold an item on the Home screen, and then drag it to a new location. To move the item to another panel, drag it to the side of the screen. You can also move frequently used apps to the shortcuts area at the bottom of the Home screen. To remove an item, tap and hold the item. Then, drag it to Remove at the top of the screen. Creating a folder 1 On the Home screen, tap and hold an app, and then drag it to Create folder at the top of the screen. 2 Enter a folder name. 3 Tap , select the apps to move to the folder, and then tap Done.
Personalising 67 Managing panels On the Home screen, tap and hold an empty area to add, move, or remove a panel. To add a panel, swipe to the left, and then tap . To move a panel, tap and hold a panel preview, and then drag it to a new location. To remove a panel, tap and hold a panel preview, and then drag it to Remove at the top of the screen. To set a panel as the main Home screen, tap . Managing the All apps screen Changing the sorting method On the All apps screen, tap → Sort by and select a sorting method. Moving items On the All apps screen, tap → Edit. Tap and hold an item and drag it to a new location. To move the item to another panel, drag it to the side of the screen. To move an item to a new panel, drag it to Create page at the top of the screen. Creating folders 1 On the All apps screen, tap → Create folder. Alternatively, tap → Edit, tap and hold an app, and then drag it to Create folder at the top of the screen. 2 Enter a folder name. 3 Tap , tick the apps to move to the folder, and then tap Done.
Personalising 68 Setting wallpaper and ringtones Setting wallpaper Set an image or photo stored in the device as wallpaper for the Home screen or the locked screen. 1 On the Home screen, tap and hold an empty area, and then tap Wallpapers. Alternatively, on the All apps screen, tap Settings → Display and wallpaper → Wallpaper. 2 Select a screen to change or apply wallpaper to. 3 Swipe to the left or right and select from images displayed at the bottom of the screen. To select photos taken by the device’s camera or other images, tap From Gallery. If you are setting the locked screen’s wallpaper, you can select images from various wallpaper categories. 4 Tap Set as wallpaper or Save. The selected image will be set as the wallpaper for the Home screen or the locked screen. Setting a Dynamic lock screen Use this feature to set the locked screen’s wallpaper to change automatically based on your settings, your location and weather, and your interests. 1 On the Home screen, tap and hold an empty area, and then tap Wallpapers. Alternatively, on the All apps screen, tap Settings → Display and wallpaper → Wallpaper. 2 Tap Lock screen.

The device will display the images on the locked screen at the interval you set. • Live weather: The device will display high quality images on the locked screen based on the time, weather, and your location information. • My interests: Select categories that interest you. The device will display high quality images on the locked screen based on your interests. • You may incur additional charges when using this feature. • This feature may not work properly depending on your region. Changing ringtones Change ringtones for incoming calls and notifications. On the All apps screen, tap Settings → Sound. To set a ringtone for incoming calls, tap Ringtones, select a ringtone, and then tap Done. To use a song stored in the device or in your account as a ringtone, tap Add. To set a ringtone for notifications, tap Notifications, select a ringtone, and then tap Done. Changing the screen lock method You can change the way that you lock the screen to prevent others from accessing your personal information. On the All apps screen, tap Settings → Lock screen → Screen lock, and then select a screen lock method. The device requires an unlock code whenever unlocking it. If the unlock code is forgotten, take the device to a Samsung Service Centre to reset it.
