    Play your files on another DLNA- ›
    enabled device
    In Idle mode, open the application list and select 1 AllShare.
    Select 
    2 Play file from my phone on another player.
    Select a media category

    Select a player—the one that will play the media file. 
    5 Playback begins at the selected player.
    Control playback using icons of your device.
    6 Playback may be buffered, depending on the 
    network connection and the connected server.
    Adjust the following settings to customise the DLNA 
    3 feature:

    USB tethering
    You can set your device as a wireless modem for PCs and 
    share your device's mobile network connection via USB.
    Using an optional PC data cable, connect the 
    1 multifunction jack on your device to a PC.
    In Idle mode, open the application list and select 
    2 Settings → Wireless and network	→	Tethering.
    Mobile AP
    You can set your device as a wireless access point for PCs 
    or other devices, and share your device's mobile network 
    connection through the WLAN feature.
    In Idle mode, open the application list and select 
    1 Settings → Wireless and network	→	Mobile AP.
    Select 
    2 Mobile AP to activate the mobile AP feature.
    Select 
    3 Mobile AP settings to customise the mobile 
    AP feature:
    Option Function
    Network 
    SSID View and edit the device name that will 
    be shown to external devices.
    Security View or edit the network key to prevent 
    unauthorised access to the network.

    device Block other devices from locating your

     ›Connect with Samsung KiesEnsure that Samsung Kies is installed on your PC. You can 
    download the program from the Samsung website  
    (www.samsungmobile.com).
    In Idle mode, open the application list and select 
    1 Settings → Wireless and network → USB settings → 
    Samsung Kies.
    Press the Home key to return to Idle mode.
    2 
    Using an optional PC data cable, connect the 3 multifunction jack on your device to a PC.
    Run Samsung Kies and use wireless connections or 
    4 copy data and files.
    Refer to the Samsung Kies help for more information.
    Select 
    3 USB tethering to activate the USB tethering 
    feature.
    Your device will share the mobile network connection 
    on your PC. 
    To stop sharing the network connection, clear the 
    check box next to USB tethering.
    The sharing method for the network connection 
    may differ depending on the PC’s operating system.
    PC connections
    Learn to connect your device to a PC with an optional 
    PC data cable in various USB connection modes. By 
    connecting the device to a PC, you can synchronise files 
    with Windows Media Player, transfer data to and from your 
    device directly, use the Samsung Kies program, and use 
    your device as a wireless modem for a PC.

     ›Connect as a mass storage deviceIf you insert a memory card in the device, you can access 
    the file directory of the memory card by using the device 
    as a memory card reader.Insert a memory card into the device.

    In Idle mode, open the application list and select 2 Settings → Wireless and network → USB settings → 
    Mass storage.
    Press the Home key to return to Idle mode.

    Using an optional PC data cable, connect the 4 multifunction jack on your device to a PC.

     ›Synchronise with Windows Media 
    Player
    Ensure that Windows Media Player is installed on your PC. 
    In Idle mode, open the application list and select 
    1 Settings → Wireless and network → USB settings → 
    Media player.
    Press the Home key to return to Idle mode.

    Using an optional PC data cable, connect the 3 multifunction jack on your device to a PC with 
    Windows Media Player installed.
    When connected, a pop-up window will appear on 
    the PC.
    Open Windows Media Player to synchronise music 
    4 files.
    Edit or enter your device’s name in the pop-up window 
    5 (if necessary).

    Open the folder to view files.6 
    Copy files from the PC to the memory card.7 
    When you are finished, select 8 Turn Off.To disconnect the device to the PC, click the USB 
    device icon on the Windows task bar and click the 
    option to safely remove the mass storage device. 
    Then remove the PC data cable from the PC. 
    Otherwise, you may lose data stored on the memory 
    card or damage the memory card.

    Learn to set and control alarms, and world clocks. You can 
    also use the stopwatch and count-down timer.
    Set a new alarm ›
    In Idle mode, open the application list and select  1 Clock → Alarm.
    Select 
    2 Create alarm or press [] →  Create .
    Set alarm details.
    3 Select Set as daily briefing to activate daily briefing 
    immediately after you stop an alarm.
    When you are finished, select 
    4 Save .
    If you set Smart alarm, your device will play a 
    natural sound and display the alarm screen until the 
    set alarm goes off.
    Stop an alarm ›When the alarm sounds,
    To stop the alarm, drag 
    •	 right until it reaches the dot. 
    To repeat the alarm after a specified length of time, drag •	 left until it reaches the dot.
    Delete an alarm ›
    In Idle mode, open the application list and select   1 Clock → Alarm.
    Press [
    2 ] →  Delete.
    Select alarms to delete.

    When you are finished, select

    Use the count-down timer ›
    In Idle mode, open the application list and select   1 Clock → Timer.
    Set the length of time to count down.

    Select 3 Start to begin the countdown.
    You can now use other functions with the timer 
    counting down in the background. Press the Home key 
    or [
    ] and access another application.
    When the timer expires, drag 
    4  right until it reaches 
    the dot.
    Create a world clock ›
    In Idle mode, open the application list and select 1 Clock  → World clock.
    Select 
    2 Add city or press [] →  Add . 
    Enter a city name or select one from the city list. 
    3 To select a city in the world map view, select .
    To add more world clocks, repeat steps 2-3.
    4 To apply the summer time to the clocks, tap and 
    hold a clock and select DST settings.
    Use the stopwatch ›
    In Idle mode, open the application list and select 1 Clock  → Stopwatch .
    Select 
    2 Start to begin the stopwatch.

    In Idle mode, open the application list and select 1 Calculator.
    Perform the calculation.

    Select 3  to close the calculator keypad.
    The calculation history appears.
    To clear the history, press [

    My Files

    videos, music, sound clips, and other types of files stored a

    Use the keys that correspond to the calculator display 
    2 to perform basic mathematical operations.Rotate the device anti-clockwise to landscape 
    view to use the scientific calculator. If you have 
    deactivated the auto orientation switch, press [

    In a folder, press [] to use the following options:
    To send a file to others via multimedia message, email or 
    •	the Bluetooth wireless feature, select Share.
    To create a new folder, select •	Create folder.
    To delete files or folders, select •	Delete.
    To change the view mode, select •	View by.
    To sort files or folders, select •	List by.
    To use additional features such as moving, copying or •	re-naming, select More .
    Task Manager
    With the task manager, you can view currently running 
    applications, package size of applications, and memory 
    information, and monitor the RAM memory.
    In Idle mode, open the application list and select 
    1 Task 
    Manager. Use the following options:
    2 Active applications•	: View the list of all the 
    applications currently running on your device.
    Package
    •	: View the package size of applications 
    installed on your device.
    RAM manager
    •	: Check and manage the RAM 
    memory for your device.
    Summary
    •	: View the used and available memory on 
    your device and memory card.
    Help
    •	: View help information about extending 
    battery life.
    ThinkFree Office
    Learn to view and edit document files on a memory card 
    inserted in your device. If you have an account with the 
    ThinkFree web service, you can manage documents online. 
    This application supports the following file formats: doc, 
    docx, txt, xls, xlsx, ppt, pptx, pdf (for details, visit http://
