Install the SIM or USIM card and battery When you subscribe to a cellular service, you will receive a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card, with subscription details, such as your personal identification number (PIN) and optional services. To use UMTS or HSDPA services, you can purchase a Universal Subscriber Identity Module (USIM) card .
Assembling10 Insert the SIM or USIM card.3 Place the SIM or USIM card into the device with • the gold-coloured contacts facing up. If you do not insert a SIM or USIM card, you can • only use your device’s non-network services and some menus. Do not insert a memory card into the SIM card • slot. To install the SIM or USIM card and battery, If the device is on, press and hold [ 1 ] and select Power off to turn it off. Remove the back cover. 2 Be careful not to damage your fingernails when you remove the back cover.
