3Place the printer over the tray, aligning the feet on the 
printer with the positioners on the optional tray.
CAUTION: This printer weighs 29.1kg including the toner 
cartridges and the cassette. Use safe lifting and handling 
techniques. If you need to move the printer, it should be 
moved by two people. Use the lifting handles as shown in the 
diagram (see page 1.3). Back injury could be caused if a single 
person attempts to lift the printer.

3Remove the screw on the metal plate and then the metal 
plate by pusing it up.
4Take out a new memory DIMM from its antistatic package.
5Locate the memory DIMM slot, the lower slot, and align 
the notch on the memory DIMM with the groove at the 
memory DIMM slot by holding the memory DIMM edges.

6Push the DIMM into the lower slot until it snaps into place. 
7Replace the metal plate and insert the screw into the hole, 
as shown below. Carefully tighten it....

Activating the added memory in the PS 
printer properties
After installing the memory DIMM, you need to select it in the 
printer properties of the PostScript printer driver so that you 
can use it:
1Make sure that the PostScript printer driver is installed on 
your computer. For details about installing the PS printer 
driver, see the 
Software Section.
2Click the Windows Start menu.
3For Windows 98/Me/NT 4.0/2000, select Settings and

Envelope construction is critical. Envelope fold lines can vary 
considerably, not only between manufacturers, but also within 
a box from the same manufacturer. Successful printing on 
envelopes depends upon the quality of the envelopes. When 
selecting envelopes, consider the following factors:
• Weight: The weight of the envelope paper should not exceed 90g/m
