61 3Taking Pictures Taking Still Pictures This camera has various functions and shooting modes that support a wide array of scenes and subjects. This section expl ains shooting with the default settings when shipped. 1Press the power button. The camera turns on and is ready to take still pictures. 63 3Taking Pictures The shutter release button works in a two-step action as follows. Press halfway This refers to pressing the shutter release button gently to the first position. This locks the focus setting and exposure. The green focus frame lights on the display when the shutter release button is pressed halfway and the subject is in focus.
