3Remove the front grille
Quite la rejilla frontal
aAbra la cubierta del panel de
control.
Cuando se realicen los siguientespasos, no tire el borde inferior dela rejilla frontal en su dirección másde 3 pulgadas o puede dañar las lengüetas superiores.
bPresione hacia adentro en el gabinete cerca del lado inferior
derecho de la rejilla frontal mientras tira de la rejilla frontal hacia
la derecha y luego un poco hacia usted para liberar la lengüeta
derecha.
cPresione hacia adentro en el gabinete cerca del lado inferior
izquierdo de la rejilla frontal mientras tira de la rejilla frontal hacia
la izquierda y luego un poco hacia usted para liberar la lengüeta
izquierda.
dDeslice la rejilla frontal hacia arriba para liberar las dos lengüetas
superiores.

aOpen the control panel cover.When performing the following steps, donot pull the bottom edge of the front grilletowards you more than 3 inches or youmay damage the top tabs.
bPress inwards on the cabinet near the
bottom right side of the front grille while
pulling the front grille to the right then slightly
towards you to release the right tab.
cPress inwards on the cabinet near the
bottom left side of the front grille while
pulling the front grille to the left then
slightly towards you to release the left tab.
dSlide the front grille upwards to release
the two top tabs. Pull up the front intake grille about 90° and slide it slightly
to the left to unhook the tabs.

Slide the front intake grille slightly to the right to reattach the tabs and then
push it down to close tight.
Deslice la rejilla frontal de toma de aire un poco a la derecha para readjuntar
las lengüetas y luego tire hacia abajo para dejar bien cerrado.
NOTE: A “click” sound can be heard when the front intake grille is pushed
down.
NOTA: Se puede escuchar un “click” cuando la rejilla frontal de la toma

Lift up about 90°.

This air conditioner employs a “Slinger-Up System” which is designed to splash the
condensed water on the condenser coil for maximum cooling efficiency, thus producing
a splashing sound.
If the splashing sound annoys you, you can provide an outside drainage by using the
following procedure which may, however, cause a small loss of performance.
Note: The cabinet should be installed tilted slightly lower to the rear for necessary
condensate drainage. (Max. 13/32”)
Este acondicionador de aire emplea un “Sistema de lanzado” el cual esta diseñado para
salpicar el agua condensada en el rollo del condensador para maximizar la eficiencia de
enfriamiento, por esto se produce un sonido de salpicadura. Si el sonido de la salpicada
le molesta, puede proveer un drenaje externo siguiendo el procedimiento de a
continuación que purde, sin embargo, disminuir el grado de funcionamiento.
Nota: El armario debe de estar un poco inclinado, más bajo que la parte trasera para el
drenaje necesario de la condensación. (Máxima de 13/32”)

Install the drain pan at the right corner of the cabinet
using 2 screws (part no. CWG86C733).

3Connect a drain hose (optional)
Conectar la manguera de drenaje (opcional)
Fit the drain hose to the drain pan.
Inserte la manguera de drenaje a la bandeja de
drenaje.

4Slide the chassis back into the cabinet
Re-install the chassis locking bracket

Fix the chassis grounding screw to the
original position.

1Slide the chassis out from the cabinet (refer to page 8) and
remove the rubber plug.

4. Thermostat Control Knob• For a room that is too warm, set the control knob to a clockwise direction.
• If the room is too cool, set the control knob to a counter clockwise direction.
*Note : Usually 6~7 is the recommended setting position.

• Para una habitación que está muy caliente, ajuste el perilla del control en la dirección de
las manecillas del reloj.
• Si la habitación está muy fria, ajuste el perilla del control en dirección contraria a las

5. Air Swing Switch
(Airflow direction adjustment Side-to-Side)
To obtain a fix airflow direction, set the air swing switch to “ON” for the vanes to swing
from side to side until the desired flow direction is reached, then switch it to “OFF”. For
continuous side-to-side air circulation, set the air swing switch to “ON”.

(Ajuste de Lado a Lado de la dirección de corriente de aire)
Para obtener una mezcla de dirección del flujo del aire, ajuste el interruptor en “ON” hasta
balancear las veletas de lado a lado hasta que la dirección de flujo de aire deseado esta
alcanzada, entonces enchufe a “OFF”. Para una circulación continua de lado a lado, ajuste el
interruptor de Rotado del Aire en la posición “ON”.

3. Main Control Knob
Set main control knob to the desired position.
(FAN setting operates the fan only.)
CAUTION : If the main control knob is turned off or changed to a fan setting from a
cooling operation setting, WAIT at least 3 minutes before resetting it to
a cooling operation.

Ajuste la perilla del control principal, en la posición deseada.
(Ajustando en FAN sólo hará funcionar el ventilador.)
CUIDADO : Si la perilla de control principal es apagada o cambiada a una posición de
ventilación de una función de enfriamiento, espere por lo menos tres
minutos antes de reajustar la perilla a una posición de enfriamiento.

2. Power Supply
Switch off the breaker and set the main control knob to the OFF position; confirm that the
power supply cord is connected to a proper AC outlet < 208-230V, 60Hz >.

							Avoid direct sunlight
Keep curtains or drapes closed to keep out direct
sunlight during cooling operation.

Air filter
Clean the air filter every 2 weeks
(refer to page 17).
A dirty filters may reduce cooling efficiency.

de enfriamiento.
Keep all doors and windows closed
Otherwise, cooling performance will be reduced and elec-
tricity wasted.

Always turn off the air conditioner and the main power supply before unplugging the power cord to
clean the unit.
Switch off the power supply if the unit is not going to be used for a long period of time.

Clean the cabinet, and front grille with a mild soap
or detergent and lukewarm water.

The filter can be easily cleaned using a vacuum cleaner
(To remove the air filter, please refer to page 18  for
Air filter removal procedures).  Vacuum the
front of the filter and then wash the back with water.
If it is badly soiled, wash with a mild household
detergent.

The front intake grille can be easily removed for
cleaning purposes (refer to page 11 - Remove
the front intake grille).
Gently wash with water and a sponge. (Do not
use a scrubbing brush or other hard cleaning aids).

If the air filter becomes clogged with dust, the
cooling capacity will drop, and 6% of the
electricity used to operate the air conditioner
will be wasted.

Do not clean with benzene, thinners, scouring

2Lift up the front intake grille at a 45° angle until it is supported by the stopper.
3Tilt up and pull out the air filter by the holder.

• Are the air intake and outlet vanes of the indoor and outdoor side
obstructed?
• Esta el aire de consumo o las veletas de salida del interior o aire libre
obstruidas? • Is the discharged air cold?
After 15 minutes of operation, it is normal for the temperature difference between
intake and outlet air to be more than 14.4°F for cooling.
• Esta descargado el aire frío?
La operación es normal si la diferencia de temperatura entre el aire que entra y el
que sale es 14,4°F o más, después de 15 minutos de la operación de enfriamiento.

• Usage over several seasons will reduce performance as the unit becomes dirty.
A dirty unit may produce foul odors and dust may clog the dehumidifying drainage.
Seasonal inspection is recommended in addition to regular cleaning. Consult your nearest servicenter.
