Note:TheundersideofthetreadmiitwalkingbeltIscoatedwithhigh-performancelubdcant.Dudngshipping,a smallamountoflubricantmaybetransferredtothetopofthewalkingbeltortheshippingcarton.Thisisanormal conditionanddoesnotaffecttreadmillperformance.Ifthereislubricantontopofthewalkingbelt,simplywipeoff thelubdcentwithasoftclothandamild,non-abrasivecleaner. 1.Withthehelpofasecondperson,carefullyraisethe Updghts(15)unt=lthetreadmillisinthepositionshown. 2.MakesurethattheLockKnobSleeve(93)Isfullyin- sertedintotheleftUpright(15). RemovetheLookKnob(92)fromtheLookPin(97). MakesurethattheLookPinCollar(95)andtheSpring (94)areontheLookPin.InserttheLockPinintotheleft Updght(15)andtightentheLookKnobontoit. 3.ObsewethetwoRearFeet(120)attherearofthetread- mill(seefigureIabove).IfthereIsaSpacebetweenone oftheFeetandthefloor,theincludedspacerwillneedto beattached. Holdthetreadmillfirmlywithbotl_hands,andraisethe treadmUltothestoragepositionasdescribedonpage13. Usingaphillipsscrawddver,removetheScrew(75)andthe RealLF.oot(120)fromthesidethatwasraisedoffthefloor. IMPORTANT:Neverapplysilicenesprayorother substancestothewalkingbeltorthewalkingplat- form.Suchsubstanceswilldetedoratethewalking beltandcauseexcessivewear. HOWTOPLUGINTHEPOWERCORD Yourtreadmill,likeanyothertypeofsophisticated electronicequipment,canbeseriouslydamagedby suddenvoltagechangesinyourhomespower. Voltagesurges,spikes,andnoiseintederencacan resultfromweatherconditionsorfromotherappliances beingtumedonoroff.Todecreasethepossibilityof yourtreadmillbeingdamaged,alwaysuseasurge suppressorwithyourtreadmill(seedrawing1at theright). Surgesuppressorsaresoldatmosthardwarestores anddepartmentstores.Useonlyasingle-outletsurge suppressorthatIsUL1;_-49listedasatransientvoltage surgesuppressor(TVSS).Thesurgesuppressormust haveaULsuppressedvoltageratingof400voltsor lessandaminimumsurgedissipationof450Joules.
