    5Functions
    Your projector can also be used as: pocket 
    flashlight, SOS light or warning light.
    These functions exhaust a lot of energy, 
    make sure the battery is full charged be
    -
    fore using. The device and its SOS light 
    ca
     nnot be used as emergency beacon.
    Flashlight
    Use PicoPix as a flashlight.
    1 S
    witch the device on using the on/off on the 
    side.

    fter entering the initial screen, press  \340.

    se the navigation keys to select  Flashlight.

    ess  \340 to confirm.
    5 Th
    e flashlight is activated.

    Quick access to flashlight function when 
    PicoPi
     x is already switched on:
    1 Press and hol
     d the  key for 2 seconds to 
    activate the flashlight.
    2 If
     the  key is released, the flashlight will 
    be switched off and the units returns to nor-
    mal operation mode 
    SOS light
    Your Pocket Projector is 
    equipped with an SOS light 
    functio
     n, using the official Morse 
    code for SOS: 3x short flashes, 
    3x long flashes, 3x short flashes.

    Warning light
    Your Pocket Projector can emit a 
    white flash. This flash can be 
    seen more than 50 meters.
    1Switch the device on using the on/off on the 
    side.

    light .

    6 Maintenance
    Battery maintenance
    The capacity of the battery diminishes with 
    time. To prolong the life of the battery, please 
    observe the following instructions:
    • Without a power supply, the device oper-
    ates itself through the built-in battery. When  
    the
      battery does not have sufficient capac -
    ity, the device will turn off. 
    • When the device is in low battery, the bat -
    tery icon in the status bar turns red.
    • When the device overheats after running for  
    a lon
     g period of time, a warning icon will  
    appear on the projection. After the device  
    has cooled down, you can continue play -
    back.
    • Use the device at least once a week.
    • Charge the battery regularly. Don't store the  
    de
     vice with a completely discharged bat-
    tery.
    • Keep the device and the battery away from  
    h
     eat sources.
    Do not replace the battery yourself!
    Do not try to replace the battery your-
    self. Incorrect handli n g of the battery 
    or using the wrong type of battery can 
    cause damage to th e device or cause 
    injury.
    Cleaning
    Instructions for cleaning!
    Use a soft, lint-free cloth. Never use 
    liquid or easily  flammable cleansers 
    (sprays, abrasives, polishes, alcohol, 
    etc.). Do not allow any moisture to 
    reach the interior of the device. Do not 
    spray the device with any cleaning flu -
    ids.
    Wipe over the surfaces gently. Be care -
    ful that you do not scratch the surfaces.
    Cleaning the lens
    Use a brush or lens cleaning paper for cleaning 
    the lens of the projector.
    Do not use any liquid cleaning agents!
    Do not use any liquid cleaning agents 
    for cleaning the lens, to avoid damag -
    ing the coating film on the lens.
    Device overheated
    A overheat icon appears if the device is getting 
    too hot. The device behaves as follows:
    1 Th
    e speed of the fan reaches the highest 
    level.
    2 Wh
    en the brightness  is set to a maximum 
    level, an overheat icon will appear in the sta -
    tus bar, then the brightness will be automati -
    cally set to a lower level.
    3 W
    hen the brightness is set to a minimal level, 
    an overheat icon will be shown for three sec -
    onds in the middle of the screen. Then the 
    d
     evice will turn off automatically.
    After the device has cooled down, it can be 
    s
     witched on and used again.

    Firmware update with USB 
    stick
    Connect the power adapter when 
    applying a firmware update.
    1Format a USB stick as FAT16 or FAT32 file 
    system.
    2 C
    opy the file of latest firmware to the root 
    directory of the USB stick.
    3 In
    sert the USB stick to the USB socket on the 
    device.
    4 En
    ter Settings menu by pressing  \340.
    5 Se
    lect  Maintenance  – Firmware update  
    and select  YE S.
    6 A
    fter around 3 minutes, the firmware update 
    will be completed and the device will restart.
    USB stick!
    Never pull out the USB stick while 
    the device is access ing it. This could 
    cause data to be damaged or lost.
    Power!
    Do not unplug the power adapter 
    during the firmware update.
    If an error occurs during the firmware 
    update process, please try again or 
    contact our customer service or your 
    retailer.

    Troubleshooting
    Power cycling
    If a problem occurs that cannot be corrected 
    with the instructions in this user manual (see 
    also the help below), follow the steps given 
    here.
    1Switch the device off using the on/off switch 
    on the side.
    2Wait at least ten seconds.
    3Switch the device on using the on/off switch 
    on the side.
    4If the problem cannot be solved, please con-tact our customer service or your retailer. 
    ProblemsSolutions
    Device turns off.• When the device is running for a long period 
    of time, it may get hot and a warning symbol 
    appears on the screen. The device 
    automatically turns off when it gets too hot. 
    After the device has cooled down, it can be 
    switched on and used again.
    • When the battery does not have sufficient 
    capacity, the device turns off. Connect the 
    device to the power supply.
    Device changes from maximum level of bright-ness to a lower level of brightness during play-back.
    • When the environment temperature is too 
    high, the device turns automatically from 
    maximum level of brightness to a lower level 
    of brightness in order to protect the high 
    power LEDs.
    Bad image or colour quality with HDMI connec-tion.• Use the supplied HDMI cable (PPA1290). 
    Third-party cables may cause signal 
    distortions.
    The Pocket Projector cannot be switched on.• Connect the supplied power supply to 
    recharge the internal battery for at least 10 
    minutes.
    No sound• Check the sound level in the menu Settings / 
    Sound settings / Volume, adjust the volume 
    with the

    Only the initial screen appears and not the im-age from the external device.• Check if the cables are connected to the right 
    sockets.
    • Please check that the external device is 
    switched on.
    Only the initial screen appears and not the im-age from the connected computer.• Check that the HDMI cable is correctly 
    connect to the computer's HDMI interface.
    • Check if the resolution of the computer is set 
    to 1280 x 720.
    • Check if the correct presentation mode is 
    selected on your computer. Try other modes 
    (e.g.: projector, only).
