    Set up network
    1 Connect the home theater to a network router through wired or wireless network 
    connection. This home theater has a built-in 
    Wi-Fi for easy access to the wireless network.
    2 Turn on your T V and switch to the correct source for the home theater.
    3 Press  (Home ).
    4 Select  [Setup], then press OK .
    5 Select [Network]  > [Network Installation], 
    then press OK .
    •	For wired network, select [Wired 
    (Ethernet)] and press OK .
    •	For wireless network, select [Wireless 
    ( Wi - Fi)] and press OK .
    6 Follow the instructions on the T V to 
    complete the setup.

    7 Select  [Finish], then press OK  to exit.

    network and the Internet
    Connect the home theater to a computer 
    network and enjoy:

    4 Use your home theater
    This section helps you use the home theater to 
    play media from a wide range of sources.
    Before you start
    Check that you:
    •	Make the necessar y connections described 
    in the Quick Star t and User Manual.
    •	Complete	the	first	time	setup.	First	time setup appears when you turn on 
    the
    	 home 	 theater 	 for 	 the 	 first 	 time. 	 If

    ou do not complete the setup, you 
    are prompted to complete it each time 
    you turn on the home theater.
    •	Switch the T V to the correct source 
    for the home theater.
    Access the home menu
    The home menu gives you easy access to 
    connected devices, audio and video set tings, and 
    other features.
    1 Press  ( Home ).

    select the following:
    •	[play Disc]  : Star ts disc play.
    •	[browse USB]  : Accesses the content 
    browser of the connected USB storage 
    device.

    iPhone.
    •	[browse PC]  : Accesses the content 
    browser of the connected PC network.
    •	[browse Net TV] : Accesses Net T V.
    •	[Setup]  : Accesses menus to change 
    picture, sound and other settings.
    •	[User Manual] : Launches the 
    electronic user manual.
    Connect a wireless module
    Note
     •When you connect and switch on the wireless 
    module, the rear speaker connectors on the 
    home theater are muted, the rear surround 
    sound is output through the connectors on the 
    wireless receiver.

    select the following set tings:
    •	ACTION /ROCK  : Enhanced low and 
    high-range. Ideal for action movies and 
    rock or pop music.
    •	DRAMA /JAZZ  : Clear mid and high-
    range. Ideal for drama movies and jazz 
    music. 
    •	GAMING /PART Y  : Moderate low-
    range and strong mid-range. Ideal for 
    video games and par ty.
    •	CONCERT /CLASSIC  : Neutral sound. 
    Ideal for live concer ts and classical 
    music.
    •	S PORTS  : Moderate mid-range and 
    surround effects for clear vocals and 
    the atmosphere of a live spor t venue.
    •	NEWS  : Enhanced mid-range for clear 
    vocals and speech.
    4 Press  OK	 to 	 confirm 	 your 	 choice.
    Change surround sound mode
    Experience an immersive audio experience with 
    surround sound modes.
    1 Press  SOUND SETTINGS /   
    ( Sound OPTIONS ).
    2 Select SURROUND , then press OK .
    3 Press the Navigation buttons  (u p /d ow n) to 
    select the following set tings:
    •	360SOUND  : 9.1 surround sound 
    mode, best cinematic experience.
    •	360SOUND STEREO  : Enhanced 
    stereo mode with 4.1 channels.
    •	STEREO  : Two-channel stereo sound. 
    Ideal for listening to music.
    •	M U LT I - C H  : Traditional 5.1 channels 
    for a more relaxing cinematic 
    experience.

    Choose your sound
    This section helps you choose the ideal sound for 
    your video or music.
    1 Press  SOUND SETTINGS /   
    ( Sound OPTIONS ).
    2 Press the Navigation buttons  (lef t /right) to 
    access the sound OPTIONS. 
    Sound experience Description
    AUTO VOLUME Sets a constant output 
    signal at the speaker 
    output. This option is best 
    for T V audio input where 
    the commercial signal level 
    is usually higher than the 
    content.
    SOUND Selects a sound mode.
    SURROUND Selects a surround sound 
    or stereo sound.
    TREBLE Adjusts the high frequency 
    output.
    MID Adjusts the middle 
    frequency output.
    BASS Adjusts the low frequency 
    output.
    AUDIO SYNC Delays the audio to match 
    the video.
    3 Select an option, then press OK .
    4 Press  BACK to exit.

    theater to a T V through an HDMI cable. 
    Use Bonus View on Blu-ray
    Blu-ray discs that suppor t the Bonus View 
    feature (also known as Picture-In-Picture) allow 
    you to view special content such as a director’s 
    commentar y while watching the main feature.
    1 If necessar y, enable BonusView (or Picture-
    In-Picture) in the Blu-ray disc menu.
    2 During playback of the main feature,  press  OPTIONS  /  (OPTIONS ).

    Change treble, mid and bass
    Change the high frequency (treble), mid 
    frequency (mid) and low frequency (bass) 
    set tings of the home theater to suit your video 
    or music.
    1 Press  SOUND SETTINGS  /

    2 Select TREBLE, MID or BASS , then press 
    OK .
    3 Press the Navigation buttons  (u p /d ow n) to 
    adjust the frequency level.
    4 Press  OK	 to 	 confirm.
    Synchronize audio with video
    If the audio and video are not synchronized, you 
    can delay the audio to match the video.
    1 Press  SOUND SETTINGS  /   
    ( Sound OPTIONS ).
    2 Select AUDIO SYNC , then press OK .
    3 Press the Navigation buttons  (u p /d ow n) to 
    sync the audio with the video.
    4 Press  OK	 to 	 confirm.
    Play a disc
    The home theater can play a wide variety  
    of discs, including video, audio and mixed media  
    (for example, a CD-R that contains JPEG pictures 
    and MP3 music).
    1 Inser t a disc into the home theater.
    2 Press DISC, or select [play Disc]  in the 
    home menu and press OK .

    Play 3D video
    Your home theater can play 3D videos on 3D TVs.
    Before you start, make sure that: 
    •	your T V is a 3D T V, and is connected 
    to your home theater through HDMI,
    •	your disc is a Blu-ray 3D disc, and
    •	you have 3D glasses that are 
    compatible with your 3D T V.
    1 Inser t a Blu-ray 3D disc into your home theater.

    our TV switches to the correct HDMI 
    source, and the disc plays automatically.
    2 If the disc does not play automatically, press  DISC  or select [play Disc]  in the home 
    menu, and then press OK .
    3 Press the play but tons to control play.
    When you search for ward or back ward, 
    and in some other play modes, the video 
    displays in 2D. It returns to 3D when you 
    play normally again.
    4 Put on the 3D glasses to enjoy the 3D effects.
    Play 3D discs in 2D
    1 Press  (Home ).
    2 Select  [Setup] > [ Video]  >  
    [Blu-ray 3D video] > [Of f ] .
    3 Press OK.
    4 Play your Blu-ray 3D disc.

    Play from a USB storage device
    The	home	theater	is	fitted	with	a	USB	connector	that allows you to view pictures, listen to music or 
    watch movies stored on a USB storage device.
    1 Connect the USB storage device to the  home theater.
    2 Press  (Home ).

    Access BD-Live on Blu-ray
    BD-Live enabled Blu-ray discs include exclusive 
    ser vices such as movies and other online bonuses.
    1 Prepare the internet connection and set up 
    the network (see ‘Connect to a computer 
    network and the Internet’ on page 10).
    2 Connect the USB storage device to the home theater.
    3 Select the BD-Live icon in the disc menu, then press OK .

    BD-Live.

    Note
     •The range of BD-Live ser vices depends on

    home theater are accessed by the content 
    provider.
     •Use a USB storage device with at least 1GB of 
    free
    	 space 	 to 	 store 	 the 	 downloaded 	 files.
     •If	there	is	insuf ficient	memor y	to	download	BD-Live content, clear memor y space.

    Access several useful features while viewing 
    pictures.
    1 Press  OPTIONS /  (OPTIONS ).

    90   degree clock wise.

    picture. Press the Navigation buttons  
    (lef t /right) to select a zoom factor.
    •	[Info]  : Displays picture information.
    •	[Duration per slide] : Sets the display 
    speed for each picture in a slide show.
    •	[Slide Animation]  : Selects animation 
    for the slide show.
    •	[Picture Settings]  : Selects a 
    predefined 	 color 	 set ting.
    •	[Repeat] : Repeats a selected folder.
    Note
     •If	the	USB	storage	device	does	not	fit	into	the	c
    onnector, use a USB extension cable.
     •The home theater does not suppor t digital 
    cameras that need a computer program to 
    display photos.
     •The USB storage device must be NTFS, FAT 
    or DOS -format ted, and Mass Storage Class 
    compliant.
    More play features for disc or 
    USB
    Several advanced features are available for video 
    or picture playback from a disc or USB storage 
    device.
    Use video OPTIONS

    the scene.
    •	[2nd Audio Language]  : Selects the 
    second audio language to play.

    Set up media server software
    Before you start:
    •	Connect your home theater to your 
    home network (see ‘Connect to a 
    computer network and the Internet’ 
    on page 10).
    •	Connect your PC to the same home 
    network.
    •	Make	sure	that	your	PC	firewall	allows	you to run Windows Media Player 
    programs.
    In Microsoft Windows Media Player 11
    1 Connect the home theater to a network  router (see ‘Connect to a computer 
    network and the Internet’ on page 10).
    2 Switch on the computer and router.
    3 Open Windows Media Player on the co m p u t e r.
    4 Select  Library > Media Sharing , then select 
    set tings to share your media.
    5 Select  Library > Add to Library , then select 
    set tings to share the folder containing your 
    media.
    6 Select  Advanced OPTIONS , then add the 
    folders to share.
    7 Select  Library > Apply Media Information 
    Changes  to activate the changes.
    In Macintosh OS X Twonky Media (v4.4.2)
    1 Connect the home theater to a network  router (see ‘Connect to a computer 
    network and the Internet’ on page 10).
    2 Switch on the Macintosh and router.
    3 Visit w w w.twonkymedia.com to purchase the sof tware or download a free 30 -day 
    trial to your Macintosh.
    4 Open Twonky Media on the Macintosh.

    5 Select  Basic Setup  > Sharing, then select 
    set tings to add a folder location or add 
    more folders.

    Use audio OPTIONS
    Access several useful features while audio is 
    played.
    1 Press  OPTIONS  /  (OPTIONS ) 
    repeatedly to cycle through the following 
    functions:
    •	R E P E AT  T R AC K  : Repeats the current 
    track.
    •	R E P E AT  D I S C  : Repeats all the tracks 
    on the disc or folder.
    •	REPEAT RANDOM  : Plays audio 
    tracks in random order.
    •	REPEAT OFF  : Turns off repeat mode.
    Play a musical slideshow
    Play music and pictures simultaneously to create 
    a musical slideshow.
    1 Select a music track, then press OK .
    2 Press  BACK and go to the picture 
    f o l d e r.
    3 Select a picture, then press OK  to star t 
    slideshow.
    4 Press  to stop slideshow.
    5 Press  again to stop music.
    Play from PC (DLNA)
    When you connect your home theater to your 
    home network, you can play music, photo, and 
    video from a computer or other media ser ver on 
    that network.
    What you need:
    •	A wired or wireless home network, 
    connected with a Universal Plug and 
    Play (uPnP) router.
    •	A Philips wireless USB adapter or 
    a L AN able to connect your home 
    theater to your home network.
    •	A media ser ver such as: 
    •	PC running Windows Media Player 11 
    or higher; or
    •	Mac running Twonky Media Ser ver.

    T Versity, see the web site of the media ser ver.

    Clear browsing history
    Clear browsing histor y to remove passwords, 
    cookies and browsing data from your home 
    theater.
    1 Press  (Home ).
    2 Select  [Setup], then press OK .
    3 Select [Network]  > [Clear Net TV 
    Memor y] , then press OK  .
    Access online video stores
    Rent videos from online stores, through your home 
    theater. You can watch them right away or later.
    Many online video stores offer a huge choice of 
    video, with different rental prices, periods, and 
    conditions. For some stores, you must create an 
    account before you can rent.
    What you need:
    •	A high-speed internet connection to 
    the home theater (see ‘Connect to a 
    computer network and the Internet’ 
    on page 10).
    •	An HDMI connection between your 
    home theater and T V.
    •	An SD memor y card of type SDHC 
    Class 6, with at least 4GB of memor y.
    Format an SD card
    Before you can rent online videos, your SD card 
    must be in the SD card slot and format ted. Af ter 
    format ting, leave the card in place so that you 
    are always ready to rent or watch.
    When you have downloaded a video to your card, 
    you can watch it only on your home theater. You 
    can’t move the card and watch it on another device.
    If you move the card and format it in another 
    device, your downloaded video is erased. You must 
    download your video again before you can watch. 
    To format an SD card
    1 Switch your T V to the correct HDMI source 
    for your home theater.
    Play multimedia content
    Note
     •Before playing multimedia content from the 
    computer, ensure that the home theater is 
    connected to the computer network and the 
    media ser ver sof tware is properly set up.
    1 Press  (Home ).

    4 Press the Navigation buttons to navigate to 
    a video store, and press OK .
    5 If prompted, follow the video store 
    instructions to register or log in to an 
    account.
