13 Attach speakers to the main unit Note Ensure that the colors of the speaker plug and • terminals are matched. 1 Inser t red plug of right speaker into “ FR”. 2 Inser t white plug of left speaker into “ FL”. 3 Inser t black plug of subwoofer in to “ SW”. Connect TV Connect video cables With this connection, you can watch video from the unit on the TV screen. You can select the best video connection that your TV suppor ts. Option 1: Connect through HDMI • (for a HDMI, DVI or HDCP-compliant TV). Option 2: Connect through composite • AV cable and SCART adaptor (for a standard TV). Option 3: connect through • component video (for a Progressive Scan TV). 14 Option 2: Connect through SCART 1 Connect the black plug of the composite AV cable to “ AV OUT” on the unit. 2 Connect other plugs to the SCART adaptor, ensure the colors are matched. 3 Connect the SCART adapter to the TV. Option 3: Connect through component video Connect a progressive scan TV through the black composite AV cable (supplied) for higher quality video. Note The progressive scan video quality is only available • when a progressive scan TV is connected. If your TV does not suppor t progressive scan, you • cannot view the picture. For how to activate progressive scan on your TV, refer • to the TV user manual. TVSCART IN Option 1: Connect through HDMI Connect HDMI (High Defi nition Multimedia Interface), DVI (Digital Visual Interface), or HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Contents Protection)-compliant TVs through HDMI for the best picture quality. This connection transmits both video and audio signals. Through this connection, you can watch DVDs that contain HD (High-Defi nition) content. 19 To return to the menu during play: 1 Press MENU/BACK. Note To see the disc menu of a VCD disc, you must turn on • PlayBack Control (PBC) feature of the disc. Select an audio language You can select an audio language on DVDs, DiVx video or VCDs. 1 During disc play, press AUDIO. The language options appear.
