19 Update the TV software Philips continuously tries to improve its products and we recommend that you update the TV software when updates are available. Check www.philips.com/suppor t for availability. Check the current software version 1 Press (Home). 2 Press to select [Setup] > [Software update] > [Current software]. The TV displays the current software » information. Change TV preferences 1 Press (Home). 2 Select [Setup] > [Installation] > [Preferences]. 3 Press OK or to enter [Preferences]. • [Location]Optimises TV settings for your location - home or shop. • [Volume bar]Displays the volume bar when adjusting the volume. • [EasyLink]Enables one-touch play and one-touch standby between EasyLink-compliant devices. • [Pixel Plus Link]Overrides the settings of connected devices and uses the settings of the TV. (Available only when [EasyLink] > [On] is selected). • [E-sticker]For shop mode only. Sets the location of the e-sticker. 4 Press to select your preference. 5 Press OK. 6 Press (Home) to exit. • [Show info]Displays the picture name, date, size and nex t picture in the slide show. 3 Press OK to confirm your setting. Note •[Rotate image] and [Show info] appear only when you press OK or to pause the slideshow. Listen to music 1 In the USB thumbnail browser view, select [MUSIC] and press to enter. 2 Press GUIDE to switch between thumbnail and file browsing views. 3 Press to select music or a music album. 4 Press OK to play the selected music. Music settings When listening to music, press OPTIONS to access one of the following music settings. • [Repeat] • [Play once] • [Repeat] • [Shuffle] • [Show info] Disconnect a USB storage device Caution Follow this procedure to avoid damage to your •USB storage device. 1 Press BACK to exit the USB browser. 2 Wait for five seconds before you disconnect the USB storage device. 20 Reset the TV to factory settings You can restore the default picture and sound settings of your TV. Channel installation settings remain the same. 1 Press (Home). 2 Select [Setup] > [Installation] > [Factory settings]. 3 Press OK or to enter the [Factory settings] menu. »[Reset] is highlighted. 4 Press OK to reset to factor y settings. 5 Press (Home) to exit. Access decoder channel You can map channels provided through a decoder or descrambler to your TV channel selection. In this way, you can select these channels by using the RC of your TV. The decoder or a descrambler must be connected to EXT1. Set decoder channel Map channels from a decoder or descrambler 1 Press (Home). 2 Select [Setup] > [Installation] > [Decoder]. 3 Press to enter [Decoder]. 4 Press to enter [Channel]. 5 Press to select channel number to map to the decoder/descrambler channel. 6 Press OK. 7 Press to select and enter [Status]. 8 Press to select the connector used by the decoder/descrambler ([None] or [EXT 1]). 9 Press OK. 10 Press (Home) to exit. Note Select •[None] if you do not want to map to the decoder/descrambler channel. If a channel is unavailable at the » selected frequency, the system searches for the next available channel. 6 Press BACK when the new channel is found. 7 Press to select [Store new channel] to store the new channel under a new channel number. 8 Press to enter [Store new channel]. 9 Press to select [Yes] and press OK to store the new channel. 10 Press (Home) to exit. 23 3 Press OPTIONS. The channel options menu appears. » 4 Press to select and enter [Rename chan.]. A text input box appears. » 5 Press to select characters. 6 Press OK to confirm each of the characters. Tip Rename channels - the leng th of the name is •limited to six characters. Use •[Aa] to change upper-case letter to lower- case let ter and vice versa. Rearrange channels After you install channels, you can rearrange the order in which they appear. 1 When watching T V, press OK to display the channel grid . 2 Press OPTIONS. The channel options menu appears. » 3 Press to select and enter [Reorder]. 4 Select the channel you want to reorder and press OK. 5 Press to select the new position for the channel. 6 Press OK to confirm the new position. 7 Press OPTIONS. »[Done reordering] appears. 8 Press OK to finish reordering. 3 Press to select and enter [Fine- tune]. 4 Press to adjust frequency. 5 Press OK when done. 6 Press to select [Store cur. chan.] to store channel number. 7 Press to enter [Store cur. chan.]. 8 Press to select [Yes] and press OK to store current channel. 9 Press (Home) to exit. Step 4 Skip channels 1 Press (Home). 2 Press to select [Setup] > [Installation] > [Channel install.] > [Analogue: Manual]. The »[Analogue: Manual] menu appears. 3 Press to select and enter [Skip channel]. 4 Press to select [Yes] and press OK to skip current channel. The selected channel is skipped when » you press P +/- on your remote control or view the channel grid. 5 Press (Home) to exit. Note You can restore a skipped channel to your •channel listing (see ‘Step 2 Search and store new T V channels’ on page 22).
