Adjusting Exposure Manually
This DVD Palmcorder measures the subject brightness and automatically adjusts the exposure. You can 
also adjust the exposure manually.
1Press the EXPOSURE button during recording.
The exposure indicator will appear on the 
screen.
2Use the   buttons to adjust the exposure, 
while viewing the image in the viewfinder or on 
the LCD screen.
Note:Pressing EXPOSURE will alternate between manual 
adjustment and auto exposure. With auto exposure, no

Compensating for Backlight
When subject is lighted from rear, this function will compensate for lighting so that the subject is not too dark.
1Press the BACK LIGHT button during 
recording.
The backlight correction icon will appear.
Note:Pressing the BACK LIGHT button will alternate between 
backlight setting between on and off.
The backlight setting will automatically return to “off ” 
when the DVD Palmcorder is turned off.

Using Auto Function
Pressing the AUTO button will fully automate the camera functions.

●Switching the information display mode
You can switch the display mode of on-screen information:
Press the DISPLAY button.
The full and minimum display modes will alternate.
Full display mode: All types of information will appear.
Minimum display mode: The recording mode (see 1 on 
page 64) and recording status (see 9 on page 64) will appear. If 
the DVD Palmcorder has warning information, a warning 
message will appear.

Recording Images from Other AV Devices
You can record images from other AV devices to disc or card in this DVD Palmcorder.
Connecting to Other AV Device 
Use the AV/S input/output cable (provided) to connect the DVD Palmcorder to the other AV device as 
follows:
Note:If you operate the DVD Palmcorder connected to another 
device, always power the camera/recorder from AC outlet 
using the AC adapter/charger.
If you use a Panasonic VCR, it will be operated by the 
remote controller...

Recording Images from AV Device
1Set the input source on the 
DVD Palmcorder to 
“LINE (L IN)”.
Switch the input referring 
to “Input Source” on 
page 90.
2Turn on the connected device, and start 
playback.
The picture will appear on the LCD screen or 
viewfinder of this DVD Palmcorder.
3Press the REC button.
Recording will start on this DVD Palmcorder.
The operation of this line-input recording is the 
same as for recording movie.

Playing Back

Immediately Checking Recorded Scene
You can check your recording immediately on the spot.
1Press  button in the recording pause status.
The DVD Palmcorder will enter the playback 
mode, and the scene you have recorded last will 
be played back.
When playback is finished, the DVD Palmcorder 
will enter the pause status at the last image on 
disc.
If the playback pause status continues for as long 
as 5 minutes, the DVD Palmcorder will 
automatically return to the recording...

Playback from Start of Disc or Card
Use the Go To function (P. 72) or Disc Navigation 
function (P. 97) to play back from the start of disc or 
card.

Search Playback of Movie
During playback, tilt the joystick to right or left and 
hold it: Search playback will start.
  Tilt  and  hold: Scenes will be visually scanned 
forward
  Tilt  and  hold: Scenes will be visually scanned 
backward
Release the joystick when you find the desired 
image: Normal playback will start from that...
