    Note 
    z
    The logo is displayed on the whole screen in 
    the normal projection condition when [DEFAULT 
    LOGO] is set. Since the menu screen is displayed, 
    it is not possible to see the whole image even if the 
    logo display is canceled by pressing the  
    button. 
     
    z
    Separate software   Logo Transfer Software¡  is 
    re quired to create and register the pictures of [USER 
    LOGO]. Refer to the application software  download

    [TEXT CHANGE]
    You can change the text displayed  when the text display 
    is enabled by selecting [TEXT] in [DISPLAY SETTING].
     
    1)  Press ▲▼ to select [TEXT CHANGE]. 
    2)  Press the  button. 
     
    z
    The [TEXT CHANGE] screen is displayed. 
    3)  Press  ▲▼◀▶ to select the text, and press 
    the  button to enter the t ext. 
     
    z
    Up to 22 characters can be entered.
    4)  Press ▲▼◀▶ to select [OK] and 
    press the  button. 
     
    z
    The text is changed.
    [MENU LOCK]
    You can set to enable/disable the menu operation by 
    displaying the menu with the  button. 
    1)  Press ▲▼ to select [MENU LOCK]. 
    2)  Press ◀▶ to switch [MENU LOCK]. 
     
    z
    The setting will change as follows each time 
    you press the button.
    [OFF][ON]
    [OFF]Releases the lock of the menu operation. 
    [ON] Locks the menu operation. 
    Note  
    z
    The  button operations will be disabled 
    when an incorrect password is entered after setting 
    [MENU LOCK] to [ON]. 
     
    z
    The password setting is set to [OFF] at the time of 
    purchase or when [ALL USER DATA] is initialized. 
     
    z
    The unlock status is maintained until the projector 
    is set to the standby mode.
    [MENU LOCK PASSWORD]
    You can change the MENU LOCK PASSWORD. 
    1)  Press ▲▼ to select [MENU LOCK 
    PASSWORD].
    2)  Press the  button.
     
    z
    The [MENU LOCK PASSWORD] screen is 
    displayed.
    3)  Press ▲▼◀▶ to select the text, and press 
    the  button to enter the text. 
     
    z
    Up to 16 characters can be entered.
    4)  Press ▲▼◀▶ to select [OK] and 
    press the  button. 
     
    z
    Select [CANCEL] to stop.
    Attention

    The init ial password when used for the first time or 
    a
    
    fter initializing all the user data is  “
    AAAA ”

    Change the pass word periodically that is hard to guess.
    [CONTROL DEVICE SETUP]
    You can enable/disable the button operations on the 
    control panel and the remote control. 
    1)  Press ▲▼ to select [CONTROL

    The [CONTROL DEVICE SETUP] screen is 
    displayed.

    You can set the limitation on the control from

    ■ [REMOTE CONTROLLER]

    You can set the limitation on the control from 
    the remote control. 
    [ENABLE] Enables the button operation from 
    the remote control. 
    [DISABLE] Disables the button operation from 
    the remote control. 
    5)  Press ▲▼ to select [ENABLE] or 
    [DISABLE], and press the  
    button. 
    6)  When the confirmation is displayed,  select [OK] or [CANCEL], and press 
    the  button. 
    Note
     
    z
    When a button operation is performed on the device 
    set to [DISABLE], the [SECURITY PASSWORD] 
    screen  is displayed. Enter the security password. 
     
    z
    The [SECURITY PASSWORD] screen will 
    disappear when the  button is pressed or 
    there is no operation for approximately ten seconds. 
     
    z
    The power cannot be turned off (the standby mode 
    cannot be set) if the operations of both [CONTROL 
    PANEL] and [REMOTE CONTROLLER] are set to 
    [DISABLE].
     
     
    z
    When the setting has completed, the menu screen 
    will disappear. To
     operate continuously, press the 
     button to display the main menu.

    Select [NETWORK] from the main menu, and 
    select the item from the sub-menu.

    After selecting the item, press ÛÝ/¢/£ to set. 
    [NETWORK SETUP]
    Perform the initial setting of the network before using 
    the network function. 
    1)  Press ▲▼ to select [NETWORK 
    SETUP]. 
    2)  Press the  button. 
     
    z
    The [NETWORK SETUP] screen is displayed. 
    3)  Press ▲▼ to select an item, and 
    change the settings according to the 
    operation instructions of the menu. 
    [PROJECTOR 
    NAME] Change the setting when using a 
    DHCP server. 
    [DHCP] Set this to [ON] when using a 
    DHCP server to acquire the IP 
    address automatically. Set to [OFF] 
    when not using a DHCP server.
    [IP ADDRESS]  Enter the IP address when not 
    using a DHCP server. 
    [SUBNET 
    MASK] Enter the subnet mask when not 
    using a DHCP server. 
    [DEFAULT 
    GATEWAY] Enter the default gateway address 
    when not using a DHCP serv
    er.
     
    [STORE] Save the current network settings. 
    4)  Press ▲▼ to select [STORE], and 
    press the  button. 
    5)  When the confirmation is displayed,  select [OK] or [CANCEL], and press 
    the  button.

    When using a DHCP server, confirm that the DHCP 
    server is running. 
     
    z
    Consult your network administrator regarding the IP 
    address, subnet mask, and default gateway. 
    [NETWORK CONTROL]
    You can set up the control method of the network. 
    1)  Press ▲▼ to select [NETWORK 
    CONTROL]. 
    2)  Press the  button.

    The [NETWORK CONTROL] screen is 
    displayed. 
    3)  Press ▲▼ to select an item, and press 
    ◀▶ to ch ange the setting. 
    [WEB 
    CONTROL] Set to [ON] to control with the Web 
    browser. 
    [PJLink 
    CONTROL] Set to [ON] to control with the 
    PJLink protocol. 
    [COMMAND  CONTROL] Set to [ON] to control with the

    terminal control command format

    [COMMAND  PORT] Set the port number used for 
    command control. 
    [STORE] Save the current network control

    the  button.
    [NETWORK STATUS]
    Displays the status of the network for the projector 
    body. 
    1)  Press ▲▼ to select [NETWORK 
    STATUS].

    The projector has a network function, and the following operations are available from the computer using the Web

    Accessing from the Web browser 
    1)  Start up the Web browser on the computer. 
    2)  Enter the IP address set on the projector into the URL entry field of the Web browser.  3)  Enter the user name and the password.

    The factory default setting of the user name is user1 (user rights)/ad\
    min1 (administrator rights) and the 
    password is panasonic (lower case). 
    4)  Click [OK]. 
     
    z
    The [Projector status] page is displayed.

     When you wish to control the projector via the Web browser, set [WEB CONTROL] to [ON] in [NETWORK 
    CONTROL] (
     page 73).

    Do not perform setting or control simultaneously by starting up multiple Web bro wsers. Do not set or control the 
    projector from multiple computers.

    The administrator rights allows to use all functions. The user rights only allows to use [Projector status]

    When [Error (Detail)] is displayed on the [Projector status] screen, c\

    The projector may go into the standby status to protect the projector de\

    [FAILED]: Occurrence of trouble

    Description of problem occurrence [FAILED]: 
    Parameter  Description
    [MAIN CPU BUS] There is a problem with the microcomputer circuitry. Consult your 
    dealer. 
    [FAN] There is a problem with the fan or the fan drive circuit. Consult your 
    dealer.  
    [INTAKE AIR TEMPERATURE] The air intake temperature is too high. It may be used in an operating 
    environment where the temperature is high, such as near a heating 
    appliance.
    [OPTICS MODULE TEMPERATURE] The temp
    erature inside the projector is high. It may be used in an 
    o
    
    perating environment where the temperature is high, such as near a 
    heating appliance.
    [AROUND LAMP TEMPERATURE] The temperature around the lamp is high. The air exhaust port may 
    be blocked. 
    [LAMP1 REMAIN TIME] The usage time of the lamp has exceeded the specified time, and it is 
    time to replace the lamp. 
    [LAMP2 REMAIN TIME]
    [LAMP1 STATUS] The lamp has failed to turn on. Wa
    
    it a while until the luminous lamp 
    cools off, and then turn on the power. 
    [LAMP2 STATUS]
    [SHUTTER] There is a problem with the shutter circuitry. Consult your dealer.  
    [INTAKE AIR TEMP.SENSOR] There is a problem with the sensor used to detect intake air 
    temperature. Consult your dealer.  
    [OPTICS MODULE TEMP.SENSOR] There is a problem with the sensor used to detect temperat
    ure inside

    [AROUND LAMP TEMP. SENSOR] There is a problem with the sensor used to detect exhaust air

    [BATTERY] The battery replacement is required. Consult your dealer.

    There is a problem with the air volume sensor. Consult your dealer. 
    [COLOR WHEEL] There is a problem with the color wheel or the color wheel drive

    (1) Control of the projector
    The projector is controlled by pressing the buttons 
    as the buttons on the remote control. The on-
    screen display of the projector at the right of the 
    control page is updated after the controlling. 
    (2) [LENS] Adjusts the projection lens. 
    (3) [TEST PATTERN] Displays the test pattern. 
    (4) [GET OSD] Updates the on-screen display of the projector at 
    the right of the control page.

    SUB MEMORY]
    Switch the sub memory 
    (6) [SYSTEM DAYLIGHT VIEW] Switches the system daylight view settings.
    (7) [FREEZE] Turn the projected image to the still image 
    temporarily.
    (8) [SIDE BY SIDE] (PT-DW730U only) Two different input signals can be displayed
