Symptoms Checks Page Power does not turn ON. • Is the power plug plugged in? 22-23 No picture. (Lamp does not light up.)• If the Lamp will not light after turning on the power 2 or 3 times, the Lamp may be damaged. Please consult your nearest dealer.68 The power turns OFF.The POWER indicator fl ashes orange twice every 5 seconds.• The lamp cover is ajar. Firmly replace the cover. - The TEMP indicator fl ashes 2 or 4 times every 5 seconds.• Check whether or not the vents are clogged. - • Is the set being used in a location that is hot? - The TEMP indicator fl ashes 5 times every 5 seconds.• Please consult your nearest dealer. - Power turns off while another indicator is fl ashing.• Please consult your nearest dealer. - Remote control does not function.• Are the batteries dead or inserted incorrectly? 7 • Is the remote control sensor in direct light of fl uorescent lamps or other strong sources of light?- • Did you correctly set the remote control code? 69 Image shakes. • Is the antenna or antenna cable old, broken or shorted? - Image is not clear.• Is the antenna cable connected properly? 12-14 • Sudden changes in ambient temperature may cause condensation in the internal optics. Condensation should disappear after Power has been ON for a while.- Color patches or no color.• When using a VCR and selecting channels on the TV, is the TV/VIDEO mode for the VCR set to TV?- Image appears doubled or tripled.• Is the antenna facing the right direction? - • Is the antenna receiving any signals refl ected off of mountains or buildings.- Images disappear at the top and bottom of the screen.• When using 16:9 image software, there is no picture at the top and bottom of the screen (cinema vision size software, etc.). - During ZOOM modes, the image is cut off at the top and bottom.• Has the screen position been changed? If so, adjust screen positioning.32-33, 42-43 Some parts of the screen are always lit while others do not light up. Some parts of the screen do not light up.• This is a characteristic of the LCD panel and not a malfunction. - Fan is operating even though TV Power is OFF.• This is because the cooling fan is operating. The fan will stop after about 1 minute.23 An OSD instructing to replace the lamp is displayed. (The LAMP indicator is lit red.)• Replace lamp with a new one. 68 Relighting the lamp when it is hot makes a sound.• This is a characteristic of the lamp and not a malfunction. - Leaving stationary images, such as still video images, web pages, or fi ller bars (used for NORMAL aspect mode), on-screen for an extended period of time can leave ghost images on the screen.• This is a characteristic of the LCD panel and not a malfunction. Try displaying constantly moving pictures which fi ll the entire screen, or turn the power OFF for a while to return the screen to normal.- An OSD advising “AIR FILTER CLEANING...” is displayed.• Please consult your nearest dealer. - Tr o u b l e s h o o t i n g

For this reason DO NOT use benzine, thinner or other chemicals to clean the unit.Dust will accumulate on the picture screen. Please wipe with a soft cloth from time to time. If you use a chemically treated cloth, please be careful to follow the instructions that come with the cloth. DO NOT bring into contact with insecticide or other volatile substances. DO NOT allow the unit to come into contact for extended periods with rubber or vinyl products. Remove dirt and soiling by wiping with a light cloth.
