    Playing Back Pictures on the Dual Display 
    ([DUAL PLAY])
    You can display two recorded pictures on the screen to compare them.
    Slide the [REC]/[PLAYBACK] selector switch to [(], and then press 
    [MODE].
    Touch [DUAL PLAY].
    You cannot select [DUAL PLAY] if there are no recorded pictures or only 1 recorded 
    picture.
    Touch a picture to select from above or below.
    A picture can be selected also by moving 3/4/2/1.You cannot display the same picture on the dual display at the same time.
    Note
    [PLAYBACK] mode menu (P92) and [SETUP] menu cannot be used.When [ROTATE DISP.] is set to [ON], pictures which were recorded with the camera held 
    vertically or pictures which were rotated will be displayed vertically.

    3Return to normal playback.

    [PLAYBACK] mode: ¸
    Selecting Pictures and Playing them Back 
    ([CATEGORY PLAY]/[FAVORITE PLAY])
    This mode allows you to search images by scene mode or other categories (such as 
    [PORTRAIT], [SCENERY] or [NIGHT SCENERY]) and sort the pictures into each of the 
    categories. You can then play back the pictures in each category.
    Slide the [REC]/[PLAYBACK] selector switch to [(], and then press 
    [MODE].
    Touch [CATEGORY PLAY].
    Touch the category to playback.
    A category can be played back only if it contains a 
    picture.
    It may take time to search the picture files if there are 
    a lot on the card or the built-in memory.
    If you touch [CANCEL] during searching, it will stop 
    halfway.
    Pictures are sorted into the categories shown below.
    Still pictures created from a motion picture cannot be played back from the motion 
    pictures category in category playback.

    already set as [FAVORITE]) 
    Slide the [REC]/[PLAYBACK] selector switch to [(], and then press 
    [MODE].

    Note
    You can use only [ROTATE], [ROTATE DISP.], [DPOF PRINT], [PROTECT] or [AUDIO DUB.] in 
    the [PLAYBACK] menu.

    Organizing pictures ([EASY ORG.])
    Favorite setting of the picture, touch zoom, editing and deleting can be done easily by 
    using the touch panel.
    Slide the [REC]/[PLAYBACK] selector switch to [(], and then press 
    [MODE].
    Touch [EASY ORG.].

    Note
    
    With [RESIZE] or [TRIMMING], a new edited picture is created. A new picture cannot be 
    created if there is no free space on the built-in memory or the card so we recommend checking 
    that there is free space and then editing the picture.
    [PLAYBACK] mode menu (P92) and [SETUP] menu cannot be used.
    AThe previous picture is displayed.

    You can do the following if a mark has been added to pictures and they have been set as 
    favor ites.
    
    Play back only the pictures set as favorites. ([FAVORITE PLAY])Play back the pictures set as favorites only as a slide show.Delete all the pictures not set as favorites. ([ALL DELETE EXCEPTÜ])
    Note
    You can set up to 999 pictures as favorites.When printing pictures at a photo printing store, [ALL DELETE EXCEPTÜ] (P38) is useful so 
    only the pictures you want to be printed remain on the card.
    You may not be able to set pictures taken with other equipment as favorites.You can perform, check and cancel the settings of images as favorites using the “PHOTOfunSTUDIO-viewer-” bundled software on the CD-ROM (supplied).
    Ü [FAVORITE]
    Touch a picture from thumbnail at the 
    bottom of the screen.
    Touch [Ü].
    Setting is canceled by touching [Ü] again.

    We recommend resizing to [ ] if you want to attach a picture to an e-mail or use it on a 
    website. (Pictures set to the minimum number of pixels for [ASPECT RATIO] cannot be 
    further reduced in size.)
    Note
    
    The picture quality of the resized picture will deteriorate.It may not be possible to resize pictures recorded with other equipment.

    You can enlarge and then clip the important part of the recorded picture.
    Note
    
    Depending on the cut size, the picture size of the trimmed picture may become smaller than 
    that of the original picture.
    The picture quality of the trimmed picture will deteriorate.It may not be possible to trim pictures recorded with other equipment.

    Select the part to be trimmed.

    You can add text (comments) to pictures. After text has been registered, it can be included 
    in prints using [TEXT STAMP] (P92). (Only alphabetic characters and symbols can be 
    entered.)
    You can use the stylus pen (supplied) if it is hard to operate with your fingers.
    Enter characters.
    Touch [ ] to switch text between [A] (capitals), [a] 
    (small case), and [&/1] (special characters / numbers).
    The cursor at the entry position can be moved to the 
    left with touching [ ], and to the right with touching 
    [].
    To enter a blank, touch []], or to delete an entered 
    character, touch [DELETE].
    To stop editing at any time during text entry, touch [CANCEL].A maximum of 30 characters can be entered.
    Touch [EXIT].
    ∫Delete the title1In step 4, delete all the texts.2Touch [EXIT].

    Text can be scrolled if all of the registered text does not fit on the screen.The name setting of [BABY1]/[BABY2] or [PET] in scene mode can also be registered by using 
    the operation in steps 4 and following.The name setting of [BABY1]/[BABY2] or [PET] in scene mode and [TITLE EDIT] cannot be 
    registered at the same time.
    You can print out texts (comments) using the “PHOTOfunSTUDIO-viewer-” bundled software on 
    the CD-ROM (supplied).
    You cannot use titles edit for pictures taken with other equipment.

    Once deleted, pictures cannot be recovered. 
    Delete the pictures on the card while the card is inserted in the camera.Refer to P38  to delete multiple or all pictures.

    Playing Back Motion Pictures/Pictures with Audio
    Select motion picture [ ] and touch [ ] to play 
    back.
    AThe motion picture recording time
    BMotion picture icon
    After playback starts, the elapsed playback time is displayed on the 
    upper right of the screen.
    For example, 8 minutes and 30 seconds is displayed as [8m30s].
    ∫Operations performed during motion picture playback

    If no operation is performed for 2 seconds, it will return to original status.2Operate control panel by touching.
    Note
    
    Sound can be heard through the speaker. Refer to [VOLUME] (P24) for information about how 
    to adjust the volume in the [SETUP] menu.
    The file format that can be played back with this camera is QuickTime Motion JPEG.Please note that the bundled software includes QuickTime to play back motion picture files 
    created with the camera on the PC.
    Some QuickTime Motion JPEG files recorded by a PC or other equipment may not play back on 
    the camera.
    If you play back motion pictures that have been recorded with other equipment, the picture 
    quality may deteriorate or the pictures may not play back.
    When using a high capacity card, it is possible that fast rewinding may be slower than usual.
