Taking Pictures using Macro Mode
This mode allows you to take pictures closely focusing on the subject. (e.g. When 
taking pictures of flowers.)
You can take pictures with the lens at a distance of 0.33 feet (10 cm) (Wide) from

Taking Pictures using Portrait Mode
This mode allows you to make a subject stand out from an unfocused background 
and adjust the exposure and the hue.

Taking Pictures using Landscape Mode
In Landscape mode the camera is adjusted to produce the greatest depth of field. 
This mode works best outdoors under direct sunlight at distances exceeding 
9.84 feet (3 m).

Night Portrait Mode allows you to take pictures against a nighttime landscape. By 
using the flash and a slow shutter speed, the picture will show the subject and the 
background brighter than they appear in real life.

This mode allows you to take a picture of yourself.

shutter button halfway, the self-timer

Recording Motion Images
You can record motion images with audio.
Preparation

The motion of recorded image is 
smooth, but the file size is large.

The file size is smaller so you can 
record motion images for a longer 
time.

Setting the White Balance
In certain situations, the color white may appear slightly reddish or bluish. This can 
occur when shooting under early or late day sunlight, on a cloudy day, or under 
halogen lighting. By using the manual White Balance feature you can achieve a 
more accurate reproduction of the color white.
Preparation
 Set the mode dial except for [ ]/[ ]/[ ]. (P29)

If you cannot acquire the desirable hue with white balance because of too many 
different light sources, etc., adjust the fine white balance as follows.
