    Notes on replacing the lamp unit
    • Take extreme care when handling the removed lamp unit, as it contains gas under high pressure and can easily
    become damaged if it is struck against hard objects or dropped.
    • The old lamp unit may shatter if it is handled roughly after removal. Ask an Authorized Waste Disposal Agency to
    dispose of the old lamp unit.
    • A Phillips screwdriver is necessary for removing the lamp unit. Make sure that your hands are not slippery when
    using the screwdriver.
     Lamp unit replacement
    1. Make sure that the area around the lamp unit has cooled down.
    Lamp unit replacement procedure
    1. If the lamp monitor (LAMP 1 or LAMP 2) is illuminated, if it is necessary to replace the
    associated lamp.
    2. Press the “POWER” button on the LCD projector or on the remote control unit.
    (The power indicator lamp will illuminate orange.)
    3. Wait until the cooling fan stops and the power indicator lamp switches to red. (Approx. 100 second.)
    4. Turn off the MAIN POWER switch and disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
    • When the LAMP indicator on the LCD projector is illuminated, the projector can only be operated for 10 minutes
    after the power is turned on.
    • If the LCD projector is operating, turn off the power by the following procedure and wait for the lamp unit to cool
    down before carrying out replacement.
    Precautions with regard to safety
    Caution
    The lamp unit should only be replaced by a qualified technician. The lamp cover will be hot
    after use.
    • Burns may result if you touch the lamp cover while it is hot.
    Note
    • After 2000 hours of operating the same lamp, it is only possible to operate the unit for approximately 10
    minutes. Replace the lamp and steps 8 to 14 must be completed within 10 minutes.

    4.Use a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the two lamp
    unit fixing screws until the screws turn freely
    .
    Then hold the handle of the lamp unit and
    gently pull it out from the projector.

    Caution
    The lamp unit will be hot after it has been
    used.
    You might get burned if you  touch it while it is still hot.

    3.Remove the lamp unit cover by pulling it
    forward.
    Caution
    • Firmly install the lamp unit and lamp unit cover. If
    not installed firmly, a protection circuit will function
    and the power will not be turned on.
    6.Use a Phillips screwdriver to securely tighten the lamp unit fixing screws. (2 pcs)

    Phillips screwdriver to securely tighten the
    lamp unit cover fixing screw.
    5.Install the new lamp unit.
    8.Insert the power cord plug into the wall outlet and then press the MAIN POWER switch.
    • If the POWER button on the projector does not illuminate red when the MAIN POWER switch is turned on,
    turn the MAIN POWER switch off again and check that the lamp unit and the lamp unit cover are securely
    installed. Then turn the MAIN POWER switch back ON.

    • Be careful not to break the tab located in the center
    of the lower side of the lamp unit cover.
    2. Using a Philips screwdriver, remove the 4
    screws on the lamp unit cover located on
    the rear of the projector.

    • If the “MENU” button is pressed, the lamp time
    resetting screen will be cancelled.

    10.Press the “MENU” button to display the
    MAIN MENU screen, and then press the
     and  buttons to move the cursor to
    select “OPTION2”.
    11 .Press the ENTER button to display the
    OPTION2 screen, and then use the 
    and  buttons to select “LAMP
    RUNTIME”.
    12.Press and hold the “ENTER” button on
    the projector or the remote control for
    approximately 3 seconds.

    13.Press the  and  buttons to select for replacement lamp setting.
    L1 RESET : Replace the LAMP1
    L2 RESET : Replace the LAMP2
    L1 + L2 RESET : Replace the LAMP1 & LAMP2
    14.Press the “POWER” button to turn off the power.
    This will reset the cumulative usage time for the lamp unit to zero.
    15.Consult the operating instructions to replace the old air filter.
    The “LAMP RUNTIME” will change to “L1 RESET
    [POWER OFF]” or “L2 RESET [POWER OFF]”.
    9. Press the “POWER” button so that a picture is projected onto the screen.
