    Charger
LUse only the supplied Panasonic AC
    adaptor PQLV209.
    Note:
    LThe AC adaptor must remain
connected at all times. (It is normal for
the adaptor to feel warm during use.)
LThe AC adaptor should be connected
to a vertically oriented or floor-
mounted AC outlet. Do not connect
the AC adaptor to a ceiling-mounted
AC outlet, as the weight of the adaptor
may cause it to become disconnected.
    During a power failure
The unit will not work during a power
    failure. We recommend connecting a
    corded-type telephone (without AC
adaptor) to the same telephone line or to
the same telephone line jack using a
    Panasonic T-adaptor (page 6).
Emergency power can be supplied to the
unit by connecting a Panasonic battery
back-up power supply noted on page 6.
If you subscribe to a DSL/ADSL
    service
Please attach a DSL/ADSL filter (contact
    your DSL/ADSL provider) to the
telephone line between the base unit
and the telephone line jack in the event
    of the following:
    – noise is heard during conversations.– Caller ID features do not function
    properly.
    Battery installation and
    replacement
    Important:
    LUse the supplied rechargeable
    batteries (Part No. HHR-65AAABU).
    LWhen installing the batteries:
    – Wipe the battery ends (S, T) with
    a dry cloth.
    – Avoid touching the battery ends
(S, T) or the unit contacts.
    – Confirm correct polarities (S, T).
    LWhen replacing the batteries:
    – USE ONLY rechargeable Ni-MH
    batteries AAA (R03) size.
    – Do NOT use
    Alkaline/Manganese/Ni-Cd
    batteries.
    – We recommend using the
    Panasonic rechargeable batteries

Your cellular phone must be Bluetooth
    wireless technology compatible with this
    product.
After you register a cellular phone to the
    unit:
    – you can use the handset to make or
answer calls using a cellular line.
    – you can get greater reception while
you are on a cellular call using the
    handset.
    – you can make or answer a cellular call
    anywhere the additional handsets are
    located.
    – you can conserve the battery power of
    your cellular phone. (While the
handset is on a cellular call, the
battery of your cellular phone is being
    consumed. We recommend charging
your cellular phone during the cellular
    call.)
You can also maximize the benefits of
cellular services (such as free night and
weekend calls, or cellular to cellular
calling plans) by utilizing unused peak
    minutes with your home phone.
To use this feature, you must first
register your cellular phone to the base
unit and connect it to the base unit (page
    17, 18).
    Important:
LUp to 2 cellular phones can be
registered. There can be only one
active Bluetooth connection at a time.
LIf the cellular phone is too close to the
base unit during a cellular call, you
    may hear noise. For best
    performance, we recommend placing
the cellular phone between 0.6 m to 3
m (2 feet to 10 feet) away from the
    base unit.
    Registering a cellular
    phone
    Important:
LFor more details and the list of
    compatible cellular phones, please

    LBefore registering a Bluetooth
enabled cellular phone to the base
    unit:
    – we recommend you change the PIN

such as a Bluetooth headset is
    connected to your cellular phone.

    flashes red.
LAfter the LINK TO CELL indicator
starts flashing, the rest of the
    procedure must be completed
    within 5 minutes.
    2Your cellular phone:
While the LINK TO CELL indicator is
    flashing red, follow the instructions
of your cellular phone to enter the
    registration mode.
    LDepending on your cellular
phone, it may ask you to enter the
    base unit PIN (default: “0000”).
    3Base unit:
Wait until the LINK TO CELL
    indicator lights green to complete
    registration (page 12).
LIt may take more than 10 seconds
    to complete registration.

When you make or answer calls with
your cellular phone, we recommend you
disconnect it from the base unit,
otherwise received audio may not be
    heard on your cellular phone.
You can also manually reconnect the
