LIt is normal for the handset to feel 
warm during charging.

immediately, charge the batteries for 
at least 15 minutes.

Setting the unit before 
use
Display language
You can select either “English” or 
“ Español ” as the display language. 
The default setting is “ English”.

Date and time
Set the correct date and time. 
– To use the available alarm function 
(page 25).
– When you play back a message from  the answering system (page 28), the 
unit announces the day and time it 
was recorded.

Making calls
1Dial the phone number.
LTo correct a digit, press { CLEAR}.
2Press  {C}.
3When you finish talking, press  {OFF } 
or place the handset on the base unit 
or charger.
Using the speakerphone
1Dial the phone number, and press 
{s}.
L Speak alternately with the other 
party.
2When you finish talking, press

Auto talk
This feature allows you to answer a call 
by simply lifting the handset off the base 
unit or charger. You do not need to 
press {C}. To activate this feature, see 
page 24.
Temporary ringer off
While the handset is ringing for a call, 
you can turn the ringer off temporarily 
by pressing { OFF}.

handset phonebook and search for 
phonebook items by name.

Searching for a name by initial

2Press the dial key ({0}  – { 9}) that 
corresponds to the first letter you are 
searching for (see the character 
table, page 18).
Example: “ LISA” 
Press  {5}  repeatedly to display the 
first phonebook entry starting with 
the initial “ L” and go to step 3.
