    B1/250: Shutter speed:
    2 (2 seconds) to 1/1000 (1/1000 second)
    ≥ The shutter speed closer to 1/1000 is faster.
    ≥ To restore automatic settings, press the   button.
    ≥When setting both the shutter speed and the iris value, set the shutter 
    speed and then set the iris value.
    ≥ When   (SHUTTER),   (APERTURE) or   (MANUAL) are set, 
    the following functions are disabled and cannot be used.
    j[PANORAMA], [SCENE MODE],  (HDR (Paint)) in [COLOR 
    MODE] and Slow Motion Mode
    ≥ When you allocate a shortcut function ( l103) to the SET button with 
     (SHUTTER),   (APERTURE) or   (MANUAL) set, you can 
    change the   (SHUTTER),   (APERTURE) or   (MANUAL) 
    setting from the recording screen.

    ≥ Depending on the zoom magnification, there are iris values that are not 
    displayed.
    ≥
    When recording with a slow shutter speed, attach the unit to a tripod 
    etc. to prevent camera shake.
    ≥ You may see a band of light around an object that is shining very 
    brightly, or is highly reflective.
    ≥ During normal playback, image movement may not look smooth.
    ≥ If you record an extremely bright object or record under indoor lighting, 
    color and screen brightness may change or a horizontal line may 
    appear on the screen. In this case, record in the Intelligent Auto Mode 
    or set the shutter speed to 1/60 in areas where the power supply 
    frequency is 60 Hz, or 1/100 in areas of 50 Hz.
    ≥ With a slow shutter speed, you can record in darker locations but may 
    find that noise increases in the recorded images.
    ≥ With burst recording, the shutter speed is faster than 1/30.
    ≥ With motion picture recording, the shutter speed will be automatically 
    set to 1/30 if you set it to a value less than 1/30.

    Setting the focus and recording
    Set the focus in accordance with the distance to the subject.
    1Select the menu.
    2Select the item to set using the SET button and press 
    the SET button.
    ∫ Using manual focus
    1 Select   (MANUAL) and press the 
    SET button.
    ≥ The bar for setting the focus appears.
    2 Tilt the SET button left or right to set  the focus, and press the SET button.
    ≥ Set the focus and return to the recording 
    screen.
    ≥When focus is set to   (MANUAL) or   (MACRO), the 
    [PANORAMA] and [SCENE MODE] functions are set to   (OFF).
    ≥ Even with a setting of   (MANUAL) or   (MACRO), if you set the 
    [PANORAMA] and [SCENE MODE] to a setting other than   (OFF), 
    the focus setting is set to   (AUTO).
    ≥ When you set the focus to   (MACRO), start with the zoom set to 
    Wide (W).
    ≥ If you register a shortcut function ( l103) to the SET button, you can 
    change the focus setting from the recording screen.
    ≥ In certain cases, it may be difficult to achieve focus automatically.

     (MANUAL):Adjusts the focus manually when it is difficult

    Creating still picture from motion picture
    A single frame from the recorded motion picture can be saved as a still 
    picture. The picture size of the still picture to be created will differ 
    depending on the recording mode of the recorded motion picture.
    1Pause at the location to be saved as a still picture 
    during the playback.
    ≥You may find it convenient to use slow motion playback and frame-by-
    frame playback here.
    2Press the   button fully.
    3Select the aspect ratio of the still picture to be saved 
    and press the SET button.
    * White bands will be recorded at the top and bottom of still pictures.
    ≥Date the motion picture was recorded will be registered as date of the 
    still picture.
    ≥ Quality will be different from the normal still picture.
    ≥ When creating a still picture from a recorded motion picture in   
    recording mode, [16:9] cannot be selected.
    ≥ The still picture is saved with a new image number.

    Cutting out a section of a panorama still 
    picture
    You can cut out and save a section of a panorama still picture you have 
    recorded.
    1Display the panorama still picture.
    2Press the SET button to start scroll playback of the 
    panorama still picture.
    3Press the SET button to pause at the section you 
    wish to cut out.
    4Press the   button.≥The cut-out still picture is saved with picture size of 1280 k720. 
    ≥ The date and time of the recording of the panorama still picture are 
    stored as the date and time of the cut-out picture.
    ≥ The cut-out still picture is saved with a new image number.

    Zooming in on a still picture during 
    playback (Playback zoom)
    You can zoom in on still pictures during playback.
    1Operate the zoom button ( /) or zoom lever ( ) to 
    side.
    ≥ You can zoom in to a maximum of 72 k (7200%) 
    ( ) or 68k  (6800%) ( /
    ). (The maximum zoom magnification 
    differs according to the size of the still picture)
    ≥ The unit zooms in on the central portion of the image.
    ≥ If the still picture has been recorded using face detection ( l102), the 
    unit zooms in on the detected face.
    ≥ When you zoom in on a rotated still picture with a 4:3 or 16:9 aspect 
    ratio, the still picture before rotation is displayed. With a panorama still 
    picture, the rotated picture is displayed. ( l122)
    ≥ The more a picture is enlarged, the more its quality deteriorates.
    2Shift the position of 
    the zoomed portion 
    using the SET button.
    Zooming out from the zoomed still pictureOperate the zoom button ( / ) or zoom lever ( ) 
    to  side to zoom out.
    Press the SET button to restore the normal display (100%) screen.
    ∫ Saving the zoomed still picture
    Press the   button while zoomed in.
    ≥The rotation information is retained for the 4:3 and 16:9 rotated still 
    pictures. The rotation information is not retained for the panorama still 
    picture, but rotated still picture is saved.
    ≥ In the case of still pictures recorded using face detection, the face 
    detection data is not retained.
    ≥The date and time of the recording of the original still picture are stored 
    as the date and time of any picture stored after zooming.

    3Select [START] using the SET button and press the 
    SET button.
    ≥Panorama still pictures are played back as follows.
    jHorizontal panorama still picture: the playback scrolls from left to 
    right.
    j Vertical panorama still picture: playback scrolls from down to up.
    ≥ To adjust the volume during a slideshow, operate the volume button

    ≥ During playback, the slideshow will stop if you perform any operation 
    except operations on the volume button ( / ) or 
    volume lever ( ).
