23 RQT7534 10HBI 10HBI 10HBI Sound field/sound quality operations Sound fields ¡Super Surround, Center Focus and Subwoofer Level adjustment (Apage 25) cannot be performed if headphones are connected (“ERROR” appears on the display.) ¡You may experience a reduction in sound quality when these sound field systems are used with some sources. If this occurs, turn the sound field system off. Dolby Digital and DTS ¡Dolby Digital and DTS are digital encoding systems used on DVD to carry surround sound. Both were originally developed for use in cinemas. ¡This unit automatically recognizes and decodes these systems. Play a Dolby Digital or DTS source. The Dolby Digital or DTS indicator lights. LTo down-mix Dolby Digital or DTS (multiple-channel) signals to 2 channels Press [SHIFT]+[MIX 2CH]. To cancel, press [SHIFT]+[MIX 2CH] again. When “D.MIX” flshes on the display The DVD-Audio contains multiple-channel signals that cannot be down- mixed. Custom Sound Memory—Store the sound settings Store the sound settings for a disc so the unit recalls them the next time you play it. ¡ Number of discs: 30 ¡Settings: Subwoofer level, Sound Field Control, Super Surround, Center Focus. Each time you press the button: Multi Re-master—Enjoying more natural sound (Discs recorded with 48 kHz only) (Discs recorded with 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz only) ¡ During 2ch output of these discs, this feature gives you a more natural sound by adding the higher frequency signals not recorded on the disc. ¡ During multi-channel output of these discs, this feature reproduces the frequencies lost during recording to give you a sound closer to the original. When connecting a record player We recommend using a record player with a built-in phono equalizer. If your player doesn’t have a built-in equalizer, connect it first to a separate equalizer and then connect that to this unit. Changing the remote control code This remote control can also operate some other brands of television and video cassette recorder. Change the code to operate such equipment and some Panasonic products. While aiming the remote control at the equipment, Press and hold [TV] or [VCR], Press a numbered button to enter the first digit, and then enter the second digit. The remote control outputs the on/off signal. If the code is correct, the equipment turns on or off. If it doesn’t, try entering another code. ¡ Note that this remote control cannot operate some equipment and that it may not be able to perform some operations. ¡Re-enter the codes after you change the batteries.
